2011 ECNL/GA Predictions

Arlington will be the top in the area. The only other club in the area that contends with them is Bethesda but they play North Atlantic.

Club or 2011 team? Arlington is not close to being the top ECNL club in the DMV.

Specifically speaking about their 2011 girls group. Is there even an ECNL club in the area that fields strong teams top to bottom? I don’t know if I can think of any.

VDA is pretty damn good across the girls age groups.

Coach is a great coach, especially with the talent! Team will be fighting for tops in the MA. No stars on the team, just solid players, with good depth!

Let’s check the VDA girls state rankings on the Rankings app.
2006 - #1
2007 - #6 (hardly terrible)
2008 - #1
2009 - #2
2010 - #1
2011 - #4 (PWSI pre-ECNL)

So I’m gonna go ahead and stick with my comment above about them being a consistently good girls program. It’s almost like Quan & Mikey know what their doing. 😂

Quan doesn’t coach a team.

How did being tops in the Mid-A and VA work out for these teams that qualified for national playoffs?

3 of the 5 qualified for actual post season play. Only the 06’s made it to the finals in Richmond to be bounced immediately. The rest performed average as far as I know. The 08’s being ranked tops in VA is interesting since that team has lost players and didn’t do great all year really. Rankings should always be taken with a grain of salt. I know that the new rankings app is doing things a bit differently but ranking youth soccer teams is a bit silly. As previous poster mentioned. QP isn’t involved on a regular basis with each team. I’d consider him more of a QC person if anything showing up on match days. VDA coaching on the girls appears like joystick coaching from what I’ve seen from the likes of AS and MW. I know MA is there as well but that move with Herndon felt more like a way to get her in the door with a few players to try to shore up 07’s. All just my personal opinion from observation.

ehh...its aight. Just kind of shows how mediocre VA is honestly. Broken record here, but its sucks that there are 5 NoVA ECNL clubs, cause VDA is the best VA has to offer and these are the results

2006 made round of 8. 2009 made round of 2010 did not get out of the group. I believe VDA had more success in postseason than Richmond and all the other NOVA clubs combined.
