How are the 2011 girls teams in NOVA going to be? Who will be the top? NVA or Arlington?

Arlington 2011s are very strong.

VDA clearly ahead of NVA.

VDA and Union will both benefit from from combination of teams. NVA and FCV still fighting over very overlapping player pool and recruiting from each other, so might take a year or two for one of them to emerge from that direction.

Arlington and VDA are likely to be the strongest at the outset. They have basically kept the same rosters from very strong teams last season (PWSI roster for VDA) and will likely be more comfortable playing together than some of the newly-combined teams.

NVA has Loudoun, valor, great falls to choose from. Loudoun is the largest club in virginia. They’re not lacking numbers exactly. FCV will be bad and pay for a complete lack of development over the years.

What do you mean pay for lack of development? They just started the 11's team last year, beginning with several from Loudoun and the smaller surrounding clubs. Loudoun as an area has a huge player pool, but splitting it with 2 teams makes it harder, and VDA steals in those areas too.

Agree with you on VDA. They will continue to be very good. VDA and Union should fight it out for top honors, they're the only teams bringing in new talent while everyone else just moving forward with what they have.

Winning should not be the first thing to think of. You should be focused on developing. But if you're focusing on winning, then who has the biggest/fastest kids.

Well Arlington isn’t going to win any dunk contests, that’s for sure.

Well Arlington isn’t going to win any dunk contests, that’s for sure.

But they WILL win the MA division this year.

Union will top this division. They've been practicing together all summer. They've brought together 2 teams that both played EDP 11v11 all spring up a year and both easily won their divisions. They have the experience and stamina on the big field and the others will get to see that preparation this fall.
