| "That bit*h set me up!" always on top. |
I used to believe that DC collectively shrugging while a sitting city councilmember spouted conspiracy theories was a symptom of DC's particular incompetence, but sadly I think this is no longer unusual behavior anywhere in the country or the world. But lets say it again for any DC voters who may not know: Trayon White, the Ward 8 councilmember for a good number of years now, believes and proclaims that Jews control the weather as well the banks and the federal government. It seems a lot of his constituents agree, and everyone else in the city who may not agree basically dismissed these attitudes as "punching up." This is pretty scary for Jewish DC residents. Our wide-eyed crazy dude also seems to be an antivaxer. Just a lot of nutbaggery passing without consequences for Trayon White. |

1. Anthony Williams 2. Vincent Gray 3. Walter Washington 4. Adrian Fenty 5. Muriel Bowser 6. Barry 7. Sharon Pratt Kelly |
| We should start a "Draft Williams" campaign |
He also has effectively banned the construction of bike lanes in his ward. I’ve learned here that many opponents of bike lanes seem to share his tendency towards crazy talk. |
|
What were the highlights and lowlights of Vince Gray’s tenure in terms of policy?
I believe he was responsible for the universal Pre-K program, which has been an outstanding success. But his management of the Streetcar project was, IIRC, abysmal and basically killed the prospects of a citywide network. |
| Vince Gray ended the policy of trying to attract and retain middle income families. |

I didn't see a lot of difference between Fenty and Gray. They were both "okay". Their biggest fault IMO was to take their foot off the necks of the agencies like DMV and DCRA. The improvements in customer service that occurred under Williams started backsliding once it became clear that there was no longer any risk of being dismissed for poor performance.
The biggest decline under Gray was in the composition of the Council (which wasn't his fault). Under Williams you had some serious Councilmembers like David Catania, Carol Swartz, and Gray himself that helped guide recovery. That devolved when we got the Browns (Kwame, Michael), Vincent Orange, David Grosso... the list goes on. |
He has no desire to be Mayor again, I suspect he'd be considered too "moderate" for this electorate. |
| It's a shame that Karl Racine didnt run in 2022. He was probably the best hope the city will have for some time to come. |
Say it 3 times above his grave and maybe he'll pop up like Beetlejuice and run again! |
Oh look Karl Racine is here. Karl Racine was an embarrassment. During a historic crime wave, he refused to prosecute anyone for anything, no matter what the crime. Instead he wasted his time filing extremely pointless lawsuits against Facebook and Google that were laughed out of court. |
| Williams and Fenty were OK. Most DC mayors were trash - incompetent or drug-addled. |
Why is he the only one with a memorial statue celebrating his works? |
This is true. |
