I would not shop there. They are the grocery stores for low income people. I would be very embarrassed.

You’re a troll. Wealthy people know there’s a hyphen in “low-income”. Pathetic.

Clever way of saying that you are wealthy.
You shop at Aldi? Come on!

I don’t shop there because I can’t get everything we usually buy in one trip, but if it works for you you can really save.

Love Aldi. Cannot wait til Lidl opens at the old Fannie Mae site.

I love the McLean LIDL. I don't buy meat there, but their fruit and other stuff is so cheap.

It couldn’t ever be my only grocery store as there are some things that they either don’t have (I think they change what they carry more often than other stores…I’m never sure they’ll have what I’m looking for or not) or that I prefer to buy elsewhere (I don’t really like their bread selection and I typically don’t like to buy meat at Aldi). But for certain items, they have really good deals and decent quality (their produce and dairy items are generally good, you can get good fish there, lots of good dry goods—cereals and snack foods) and they’re almost always cheaper than other stores).

Oh Aldi's Pane Turano Italian bread, toasted with butter and honey will get me into my car to go get more. They seriously interfered with my low-carb aspirations.

Got smaller ribeye steaks for <$10 each on sale at Lidl this weekend that might help pull me back to the low/no-carb side.

Sure. It's the same as Trader Joe's. They just don't have Aldi or Lidi where I live. But I shop at TJ's all the time.

Also, I love their Brioche bread/rolls. And their sour dough bread!

PS. Any of the German food has been really good there, too. Including the chocolate from overseas!

I find some things are better quality at Aldi like fruit, but I find that things like meat (other than their pork and brats) are not as good as Harris Teeter.

Pane Turano poster. Yes their brioches! And german sausages. The one thing I haven't liked was their prosciutto. I think the cured meats are selected based on German palate rather than italian, even when it's italian cured meats. That's too bad because they're cheap enough.

I'm partial to Lidl's interesting snacks and miscellaneous cheap clothing, kitchen utensils, outdoor supplies. I realized it makes me nostalgic for shopping at Rodman's.

Oh oh oh, the $17 rillettes at Rodmans that are sometimes on sale at $14? Like $6 or $7 at Aldi's.

They clearly have many of the same suppliers. Their parent companies are related, but they operate independently in the US.

For a few items time to time that are very good yes. But certain items no way. Their bobo Lucky Charms made my mouth burn.

$300k hhi so I like to save money, but we have a decent grocery budget. I did not like the experience at Aldi. It wasn't worth the savings for canned/packaged items and the produce did not look good to me. I do like the Mclean Lidl and found the produce to be generally good but I can't do all/most of my shopping there.

We generally do Trader Joe's and Costco and fill in with Whole Foods and Safeway. I also order stuff in bulk online from Amazon, Walmart and Costco.

I love shopping at Aldi, for the money and time savings. Produce is usually pretty good, at least as good as Safeway. Packaged goods and dairy are good quality at great prices. Meat/chicken is more hit and miss. I can’t get everything I buy there, but it’s a regular part of my rotation.
