Would you ever shop at ALDI/ LIDI?

I like Lidl. It’s small and easy to navigate and has many items that we really like. The organic chicken is good, nice but selection and very nice fruit and veggie section. I find the prices to be much lower than wegmans- which had gotten so expensive…. We are high income but will always look for good value.

Are you talking about Lidl of Aldi, and have you stopped in lately? Our Aldi added tons of self-checkout stations about six months ago, and now we NEVER wait in line there.

i’ve noticed Aldis has started engaging in fairly significant package shrink.

Not sure it’s such a great deal anymore.

Mine in Rockville has none. I was just there.

What the heck? Middle class people shop at Lidl and Aldi all the time. Most of us get excited when one opens near us.

I was going to say Aldi is great for things like nuts and trail mix!

Aldi really depends on individual store. Some locations are just horrible and it looks like a grenade went off inside and are super crowded (like Baileys Crossroad). Some are bigger than others and have more selection.

The one near me is the Monroe Avenue one in Del Ray. There are several other grocery stories within a few miles (multiple HTs, multiple Giants, Safeway, TJ, Whole Foods, a Fresh Market, Wegmans, Costco, and Target) and I believe that competition forces the Del Ray Aldi to be more competitive in selection, appearance, etc. I have noticed others just aren’t as nice as this one.

If you go there, look at the cars in the parking lot. You may be surprised.
