Me and a couple of girlfriends went there for a birthday party. I immediately recognized one of the servers as a second grade teacher from my daughter’s school. I was in disbelief that she was a server at the establishment.

So, it’s okay for you as a parent to go there, but not for the teacher to work there? Maybe you need to be reported to CPS for being an unfit parent. In reality, you need to get off your high horse and accept that the teacher is probably making more $ this summer than she does teaching.

But it’s different for me since my occupation doesn’t requirement me to uphold and promote certain values. Teachers should be very selective and intentional about how they present themselves

I posted above about your hypocrisy. If you feel there is something wrong with that establishment, then YOU shouldn’t have been there. If it’s okay for you, it’s okay for her. What you do for jobs elsewhere doesn’t matter to me.

How the heck are we going to reverse this teacher shortage? Now teachers are judged for what they do when they aren’t in the classroom and when they aren’t getting paid as a teacher? Even when what they are doing isn’t illegal?

I just don’t understand why this teacher would risk her career to work at a sleazy gentleman’s club. There are so many other side jobs that she could have had instead of this one. Teachers argue about respect but they go and take up side gigs at strip clubs. A lot of people despise strip clubs and don’t want to be associated with it.

You don't have to associate with it.

I wouldn’t want my child to be taught by someone who thinks that working at a strip club is acceptable. The dancers at strip clubs do not have any respect for themselves. In my household, we teach our children to have respect for themselves and to not objectify their bodies. This is sending the wrong message to children by having a teacher who sees nothing wrong with working in a strip club.

Exactly. If you don’t want to be associated with strip clubs, then don’t go. It seems the only reason OP knows is because OP was there herself.

I also doubt the teacher is risking her job. She isn’t doing anything illegal.

Just because the teacher wasn’t observed on stage dancing doesn’t mean she doesn’t do it on other nights.

And how would your children know? Are they going to frequent the club? Do you plan to tell them about this teacher’s side job?

I hope you are also advocating for higher teacher pay and respect since you hold teachers to a higher standard than everybody else. Unless you are regularly in front of the Board of Ed advocating, I don’t think you get to call for teachers to meet some angelic standard even on their off time.

You want mind control over your public school teachers? I don't even want to get into the misognistic viewpoint that someone who works at a strip club doesn't respect themself.

It’s borderline illegal for someone to engage in an act of prostitution. You must not be familiar with strip clubs as the dancers are constantly gyrating in close proximity to the patrons. It’s very explicit behavior.

YOU went there. YOU are supposed to teach your child good morals. YOU are your child’s 1st and most important teacher. How dare YOU visit that establishment. Please demand that your child get removed from your custody immediately!

You are so beyond ridiculous.

Any parent who cares about their child wouldn’t think it’s acceptable for a teacher to put themselves in that kind of environment. I believe that someone previously mentioned all the crime that goes along with these establishments. If someone if willing to surround themselves with this sort of behavior, there’s no telling what kinds of illegal things they partake in. The school needs to look into this and run a drug test on this teacher as well.
