But it’s different for me since my occupation doesn’t requirement me to uphold and promote certain values. Teachers should be very selective and intentional about how they present themselves |

Exactly! I don’t see how the OP can pass judgment here. She was there, too. Should OP be reported to her place of employment? Why is one acceptable, but the other is not? |
Teachers who cannot uphold this standard should not be working with children. This has been common knowledge and the expectation since the beginning of time. |
I don't think her second graders are going to know about her side job so you really don't have to worry. |
But you are with your children much more often than a teacher! You are not fit to be a parent.
Pot, meet Kettle |
Why should I be reported to my employer for visiting a gentleman’s club? I work as a financial advisor and the expectations are completely different from those of a teacher. Am I making sense here? |
I posted above about your hypocrisy. If you feel there is something wrong with that establishment, then YOU shouldn’t have been there. If it’s okay for you, it’s okay for her. What you do for jobs elsewhere doesn’t matter to me. How the heck are we going to reverse this teacher shortage? Now teachers are judged for what they do when they aren’t in the classroom and when they aren’t getting paid as a teacher? Even when what they are doing isn’t illegal? |
I hope you are loudly and regularly advocating for much higher teacher pay. If you expect teachers to uphold society’s standards for you, then at least give them a more respectful salary. Maybe then they won’t need side jobs. |
No, you are not. There is no expectation that a teacher can't seek employment at a gentleman's club outside of their contract hours. If you were to tell this to your school principal they would probably look at you and try to keep a straight face until you left the room. |
Hopefully, OP isn't using illegal drugs, which could impact her ability to manage her client's finances. If I were you, I would notify her employer. |
That is the job you do for pay, you are also a parent at all times, unlike this teacher who is only a teacher 180 school days per year. |
"...apparently works as a server at a gentleman's club..." SO, this is gossip at best? Heresay from a chatty parent? I'd really be careful what you say especially if it truly is a rumor. You open yourself up to being sued for defamation. |
I just don’t understand why this teacher would risk her career to work at a sleazy gentleman’s club. There are so many other side jobs that she could have had instead of this one. Teachers argue about respect but they go and take up side gigs at strip clubs. A lot of people despise strip clubs and don’t want to be associated with it. |
You don't have to associate with it. |
