I agree with you about German food. It’s delicious but of a very limited variety and so heavy |
The new German cuisine is very light and healthy. I’ve seen it almost take over at many places where locals go. |

We had great food, and the coffee was amazing. |

Mexico City, Southern Italy, and Normandy.
Would love to hear where in Oslo people ate! I went last year and the food didn’t not stand out to me. |
Wow - really? What sort of vegan food? For me it was India, India a hundred times over. I ate so much and so much of it. I'm a vegetarian and what a wonderful treat, to have so much good food right there for me to eat. |

Pretty sure poster had to be ironic. None of the eastern bloc countries are known for being supportive of vegetarianism. For me, I'd have to rank HK, Singapore, Japan and Bangkok among the best. Western Europe is a different culinary approach, you're not going to have the same approachable street stalls and markets and little kiosks you can find in Asia. But in Europe, Naples is one of my favorite food destinations. I have mostly eaten very well in German and Austria but it is a narrowish range of food. France has wonderful patisseries and bread and, if you plan carefully, excellent bistros. Love Spain but like France, need to be a bit careful in where you go. Turkey also has great food, but as with European countries, do your research first. Israel and Lebanon for fresh Mediterranean food. |

My top three are stable after a lot of traveling:
-Turkey (top notch vegetables and fruits, kebabs, meze, borek and other baked goods — really all of it, but be mindful of avoiding touristy places) -Kuala Lumpur (Malay, Chinese, Indian (especially South Indian which is harder to come by at home), tropical fruits) -Mexico (all the antojitos, it’s fun to explore the regional varieties like DF style tacos v. Northern style on a flour tortilla v. Panucho topped with cochinita pibil in the Yucatan) |
Google vegan food in Warsaw or krakow. They had everything from buy by the pound places at the mall to fine dinner. Everything was so fresh and I didn’t feel like I was not eating true polish food. |
Well I was just in Munich in April and the traditional stuff was as heavy as ever |

1) Sicily - never had a bad meal
2) Singapore - maybe the best asian food other than possibly, 3) Penang Mexican cuisine on Oaxaca in not well known but certainly up there Anything Mediterranean - like Greece I don't know if that's specific enough for what you were asking? |
Agree with all of these - Turkey is really underrated. |
I just spent two weeks in Sicily and while we certainly didn't eat badly, I also wasn't impressed. I kept thinking we were missing something, no matter where we went. Naples, by contrast, was much more enjoyable from a culinary perspective Will say the highlight of Sicily were the granitas. |
