What country (or area of a country or international city) included food you'll never forget and that was overall wonderful?
And, somewhat differently, where did you go where the food didn't stand out overall but one thing really did? I'd say, overall, I enjoyed eating in Isreal more than anywhere else, overall. I love fresh vegetables at breakfast, tahini available at every meal, and good pita, grilled meats. I wouldn't say any one meal stood out or that all the food was good (lots of dry chicken cutlets in certain hotels) but I just enjoyed so much of it. Costa Rica didn't have stand out food overall, but the fruit lives in my memory. So fresh, so abundant, so wonderful. |
| Lebanon, best food in my entire life. |
| Greece has the most fresh and flavorful food i've ever had |
| ^^ Crete to be exact. The mainland may be different. |

New Orleans
Singapore Grand Case, St Martin |
| Spain and Singapore |
| Cape Town! |
| Paris. Everything we ate was delicious, and we didn’t even eat anywhere fancy. I loved the ramen, baguettes, coffee, among other things. |
When did you go? In my early 20s I couldn't wait to get to Beirut but that city has now been through so much (again). |
| China and Spain |
| London, Mexico City, and Montreal. |
| Istanbul |
| India, New Orleans, and this will be an unpopular answer but nothing is better to me than any kind of blackened grouper on the gulf in SW Florida. |
I love South African food! Veggies taste so fresh and flavorful! |
