True.

I wouldn’t kill myself but even just imagining the idea of setting them down for the last time and walking into a prison makes me shudder. I cannot imagine it. It’s so horrifying.

And yes, I know she’s a monster and yes I know she had the kids knowing this would happen and yes I know about Ian Gibbons and I agree she’s horrible. And yes I know that lots of non-white, non-rich parents go through the EXACT SAME THING, every day, for reasons that are likely related to race/poverty injustices.

AND STILL, the thought of her leaving her kids horrifies and fascinates me because I cannot help but wonder how I would survive that myself.

Presumably you wouldn't have gotten pregant (twice) after you already knew you would likely go to prison. She is a con, to the bone.

Pp here. I could maybe see getting pregnant once because you just cannot fathom how much you’ll love your child before you have them. But the 2nd child is incomprehensible to me. I wonder if she’s also currently pregnant.

They want to make an example put of her because she's a woman who flew too close to the sun. See Martha Stewart.

The WeWork guy needs to be in prison. Along with a dozen other tech bros

Exactly. Why are the Neumanns still out and about? So GROSS.

Boring. I was hoping she would flee and there would be a chase. Like Fat Leonard

Yup...it is so gross that the harpies on DCUM have so much schaudenfreude about a white woman going to jail.

But she’ll be 50 when she’s done with the prison sentence.

I can't get past what a hot mess her hair always is, in every single photo. She always just seems hairy and dirty and not put together. Obviously this is a dumb sidebar.

Glad she finally had to report. All her legal maneuvering was annoying.
Anonymous
Yay! Finally… no sympathy. She got pregnant on purpose. Now she’s acting like some family person. No guilt for all the money she swindled.

Not her fault. She was using a new birth control developed by her company.

All of it is a con. Kids better off with it her and she is better off without them. She only had them to try to stay out of prison.

Perhaps you’re unaware, but one of EH’s employees was so devastated that he’d been involved in this fraud, his reputation was shot, likely no one ever hire him again, and he was going to be embroiled in the resulting investigation, that he committed suicide.

Real patients were given completely inaccurate bloodwork results by Theranos. One patient was told she was miscarrying, and based on that, resumed taking a medication that has the potential to harm fetuses. She was not miscarrying. A patient was given a false-positive on an HIV test. Another patient was instructed to discontinue a blood thinner, based on inaccurate results. With equipment that Holmes knew could not reliably produce accurate results, she enrolled late stage cancer patients in a study to determine how well they were responding to treatment.

This was bigger than Holmes lying to investors. She had a callous disregard for real people who were making medical decisions based on results from technology that didn’t actually exist.

You don't understand. They're saying her sentence seems harsh, whereas other tech CEOs (men) got away with no prison time AND golden parachute deals, which is unfair to women CEOs

LOL! She deliberately got pregnant in the hopes of a lighter sentence or getting off the hook completely. No sympathy.

+1 She's a poster woman for selfishness. Doesn't seem to have much of a moral compass.
