I didn't realize she got 11 years. That seems pretty long for a non-violent, white collar crime. Meanwhile in DC actual murders get less time.
They want to make an example put of her because she's a woman who flew too close to the sun. See Martha Stewart. The WeWork guy needs to be in prison. Along with a dozen other tech bros
Exactly. Why are the Neumanns still out and about? So GROSS.
Yup...it is so gross that the harpies on DCUM have so much schaudenfreude about a white woman going to jail.
Perhaps you’re unaware, but one of EH’s employees was so devastated that he’d been involved in this fraud, his reputation was shot, likely no one ever hire him again, and he was going to be embroiled in the resulting investigation, that he committed suicide. Real patients were given completely inaccurate bloodwork results by Theranos. One patient was told she was miscarrying, and based on that, resumed taking a medication that has the potential to harm fetuses. She was not miscarrying. A patient was given a false-positive on an HIV test. Another patient was instructed to discontinue a blood thinner, based on inaccurate results. With equipment that Holmes knew could not reliably produce accurate results, she enrolled late stage cancer patients in a study to determine how well they were responding to treatment. This was bigger than Holmes lying to investors. She had a callous disregard for real people who were making medical decisions based on results from technology that didn’t actually exist.
