| This feels very Orange is the New Black to me |
Of course not. |
Is that possible? |
| I didn't realize she got 11 years. That seems pretty long for a non-violent, white collar crime. Meanwhile in DC actual murders get less time. |
It’s not true that convicted murders get less time. For crying out loud stop with that. |
Just stop! So not true. |
| Given that her kids live in San Diego and she’s in prison in Texas, doesn’t seem like there will be a lot of visits. |
She can afford better lawyers, so this shouldn't be too hard to swing. https://compassionaterelease.com/mother/ |
| Do you think she is just crying all day? I think i would kill myself; it would be too painful to be away from my kids, especially a baby, for that long. |
Me too! I really thought she might just not show up. |
| As others gave stated, the biggest is that she actually reported to jail. This is probably the first time she's done the 'right thing' in her life . |
| I don't think she'll really be in prison for the entire 11 years. I can't imagine her husband waiting for her. |
They want to make an example put of her because she's a woman who flew too close to the sun. See Martha Stewart. The WeWork guy needs to be in prison. Along with a dozen other tech bros |
| She could have frozen her eggs |
The article I read said that federal law requires her to serve 85% of her term. So unless she wins an appeal or a new trial, she's going to be there quite a while. |
