No she doesn't. She's still in high school and will be graduating soon.

Collin intends to join the military (or already joined?). Mady and Cara are graduating from Syracuse and Fordham this year. Not sure what the other 5 plans are.

How did they afford the out of state tuition?

Mady has said on tiktok that she is not receiving parental help for college and has loans. I believe Alexis also said that she's paying for college. Pretty despicable that their parents blew all that money instead of helping their kids out.

Um it was Kate. Especially once they split Jon stopped being involved with the show. The kids should've also had at least 15% deposited into an account for them as per the Coogan Law (I think that's what it's called).

Bull. No way a student can’t pay over $50,000 without any money.

Meant to say can. She’s obviously getting her from someone. I’m sure she has a bank account with some money from the shows put in.

Cara appears to have a pretty robust public LinkedIn profile. It says on there that she was a resident assistant for two years while attending Fordham.

She was also a “credit analyst” summer intern at a big bank that is listed as having taken place in NYC. I don’t know the terminology to know if that means it’s front office investment banking or not, but it presumably paid well, and it says she’ll be working there after graduating.

Parent Plus Loans or private loans with a co-signer. Not condoning either but it’s relatively common to take those out for expensive privates unfortunately

The kids mostly all went to a $35,000/year private school (Lancaster Country Day School) for many years. Kate could’ve moved to Wyomissing, Manheim Township or Hershey and sent her kids to good public schools instead.

I think it’s horrible to send your kids to expensive private k-12 against their will and then saddle them with loans for college. But I expect nothing different of Kate.

She sold a $1M house recently and moved full-time to a $750k one that she’d bought in 2018.

It's interesting because Mady, Cara, and the two girl sextuplets that stayed with Kate did a live not too long ago and said that the public shouldn't believe what they heard about the cause of the rift. This was shortly after Collin did that interview. They didn't elaborate but did say that no, the "Kate kids" do not interact with the "Jon kids" and vice versa. Jon doesn't see any of the kids who live with Kate. Kate doesn't see the kids that live with Jon either.

Terribly sad. All Mady would say is that there are things the public will never know for the reasons for what went down.

So, basically, this is either a textbook example of parental poisoning and what happens when a select group stops believing the poisoning lies, OR something majorly nefarious went down that caused Kate to expel Collin and then later Hannah.

It is a good question where all that money went. She was screaming he didn't pay child support but per formula if she was the high earner she probably owed him child support. It's sad she never put the kids first. Its sad she alienated the kids from Dad and what she did to that boy is horrible sending him to a facility rather than giving him to Dad where he's thriving.

Its also horrible to live in a million dollar house and not pay for college when your income was because you had those kids and put them on display.

There are ways. My husband's son claims to have $400K in student loan debt.

Kate controlled all the money. This isn't Dad's fault. She blew the money or is keeping it for herself. If she doesn't have a relationship with Dad, not his responsibility.

And therein lies the issue with reality TV. The Coogan Law is for work done in the state of California. NY, IL, NM, and LA have also passed the Coogan Law in their states for child actors. Other states have rules about work hours for minors but not all have rules about money being set aside for the kids.

PA did enact some regulations in 2013 as a result of the Gosselin kids. The regulations included working hours limits, a teacher needing to be present during filming for schooling, trust accounts, and the need for work permits for the kids.

Yes, my nephew, who had parental financial help for undergrad, has around $225k in debt for his post-grad years.

I grew up in the same school district that Kate's old house (the $1 million+ house w/ the pool) is in- Wilson SD. It is a nice school district in a quiet, middle class area. Also, Lancaster Country Day is 45+ minutes each way from where that house is.

I think it was an ego thing for Kate. I can't think of any other reason to blow your kids' college money, put them through a 90 minute commute every day and spend $35k/year per kid when you have a perfectly fine, safe school district at your fingertips. It's not like the alternative to LCDS was Reading public schools or something.

That’s just awful. I assumed there was some money set aside for the kids at least after the backlash from the early days.
