Oh please. You probably poo pop around with garbage like goblet squats and lunges, as if those are going to be adequate replacements for doing reps of 315+ lbs of barbell squats. The solution is clearly to go to an entirely new gym and setup new memberships elsewhere they may be many more miles away because idiots don't know basic gym etiquette? I don't know what's more dense, the plates on the rack or your brain. |
My total is 1,135. I lift heavy. And I'm a guy. And I've willingly had the rack set to just above my belly button on back squats (essentially starting at mid squat) to make it easier on the person I'm working in with. It's not that hard. And no, you don't need to reset the safety bars |
Agreed |
Say something clown |
+1 |
Maybe you should work out at home, snowflake |
I think the two people on here that actually have experience lifting heavy weights have both suggested a different gym because one squat rack is not sufficient for more than one person to train heavy squats. It seems to me like you choose this gym, which is not particularly dedicated to heavy lifting because you figured there would be little competition for the squat rack. That was a miscalculation on your part. You can only change your own behavior. You cannot control other people. |
Gyms are disgusting anyway, no wonder there’s still Covid everywhere. |
I hear you, OP.
This is how I feel about people hogging the stairmasters... but they're leaning on the machine with their arms. I don't care what speed you do, or even how long you're on the machine. But if you're going to clog up a limited supply machine, at LEAST do it right. And it's not exactly rocket science. |
I returned to my gym in June 2020, one week after they reopened. That was nearly 3 years ago, and I was maskless the entire time I worked out. And I've still never had covid. |
I think several of you would benefit from skipping leg day for meditation. |
Hahaha agree!!! |
Open your mouth and speak. "Can I get a turn on this machine?" Then communicate to the gym staff if the problem continues. |
I would definitely say something to someone deadlifting in such a way that they blocked a power rack. What the hell is that? And curls in a squat rack? Yikes. |
If you go to a gym that only has one squat rack, and you get shut out, that's on you.
If you lift heavy, as you claim, you should be going to a powerlifting gym that has many squat racks. I'm certainly willing to drive 20 minutes to go to a gym like that rather than drive 5 minutes to the lame-o Big Chain Gyms near my house. |
