Will Georgetown still be a T30 in 10 years?

Once they start an ED and ED2 program, they'll be able to improve their student stats pretty quickly too (Chicago did this well). ED2 would be especially powerful for Georgetown.
Being a Catholic school is a positive for some people and Georgetown's more liberal environment make it far different than say Notre Dame in that regard as a negative for others (almost a win-win for Georgetown there).

Georgetown has never been top 15. See comment above.

With Coach Cooley, the basketball program should return to prominence (or at least respectability). That will help Georgetown since it has been a part of the brand recognition for decades.
Georgetown has also done a lot to ensure the school has a strong international reputation.

ED is not doing anything for the rankings.

Notre Dame has been on the way up. Gtown is going down. ND has been a top 15 school as recently as 2020. Georgetown has never been top 15 and never will be.

Yes, it has a better reputation and more name recognition than its rank (that was the point of the statement...)

More name recognition than Notre Dame? I doubt it.

I'd actually say both Georgetown and Notre Dame are on the way up. Thankfully, fewer people are prejudiced against Catholics and Catholic institutions, which has helped a lot.

Regardless of ranking, what is GT known for? Not much of a STEM school. For undergraduate, what are they known for?

It is known for being a top 25 school.

Get it?

Notre Dame is a great school too, which also has more name recognition than its rank in large part due to football.
Notre Dame would also help itself with ED and ED2, especially since it really is #1, 2, or 3 for so many who want a great midwestern school.
Notre Dame really does have limited long-term upside given its location though.

Truly feeble minded response.

Isn't the purpose of ED to help with yield? ND already has a very strong yield utilizing REA, so I don't think ED will make much of a difference. Although for selfish reasons, I would love ED for my HS daughter who has it as her first choice.

Business and finance are big. I think you might misunderstand what STEM means too. Georgetown isn't an engineering school but does well with pre-med and math and now has a decent CS program. CS and pre-med are really the core of STEM investment recently at Georgetown. It isn't trying to stand out in EE or anything like that.

So even with that reputation, you'd agree it will be probably be at least top 30 in 10 years ?

Yes. It bounced between about 18 and 23 on most rankings. The SFS is the best in the country and has a low single digit admit rate.

All you've listed is USNWR. The other poster was likely referring to the alternative rankings and you misunderstood.
