Should Chap Peterson be worried?

Yeah, this definition issue was more complex than this... and one you could drive a truck thru because no one actually mapped what weapons it would apply to and which ones would fall through the cracks.

Better a study than being outright killed in committee. Better the right legislation, than one that needs "fixes." Take the draw on the small battle to win the larger one later.

I'm a Democrat and I like Chap Peterson. He is a nice guy and I applauded him standing up for our kids.

Does his opponent have kids in FCPS?

Erika Yalowitz has school aged kids in FCPS.

Great, what was her opinion on schools reopening during Covid? She was a "community activist" so she must have shared her opinion.

Yes. He was on Fox News talking about it.

Creigh Deeds agreed with him on the procedural aspect. Are you saying you disagree with Creigh Deeds on an issue of gun control?

THIS is enough to make me vote for someone else.

"As you may already know, Erika was a strong supporter of our efforts to prevent an unnecessary elementary school from being built on top of Blake Lane Park. During the 2019 Providence Supervisor race, she was the first candidate to join us and pulled all the other candidates in the same direction. She remained a valuable ally to the Save Blake Lane Park cause through the rest of our fight. Erika is a strong advocate for the environment among other important issues."

She placed the needs of dogs and sucking up for the votes of dog owners over kids.

One opponent has young kids in FCPS and the other opponent is a graduate of FCPS and George Mason. I don't know why you think that's important though - clearly, they both understand the importance of public education.

Yes.

He's not my senator though, Chap is.

A study seems unnecessary and a delay tactic. Definitely a strong strike against Chap. Hopefully he doesn’t get reelected.

So instead an unnecessary elementary school is getting built in Dunn Loring? That project will involve the not-so-environmentally friendly solution of tearing down an existing building to build a school that isn’t needed.

Yalowitz and Karl Frisch are both scum.

We are in his newly rezoned district and with a name like Chap Peterson, I thought he was the Republican! He's a pretty conservative democrat, I don't love him.

Oh god, so SHE'S the reason the Dunn Loring project is moving forward? I won't vote for her just like I won't vote for Karl Frisch. Providence better get ready for a Republican school board member. Nobody I know is going to vote for him.

Saddam Salim released a video attacking Chap on his gun control votes. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6I39jHvSiYE. I wonder how much traction this will get. Chap is an excellent politician (and a super nice person), but I wonder whether he is too out of step with Democratic primary voters on these issues.
