I know most people are not on Twitter, but should he be worried? I support him, but I wasn't happy with a few of his votes Like opposition to legislation legalizing marijuana and the mask rule, other than that I support him.

No, he’s a moderate and and he’ll get moderate votes plus any Republican who knows there is zero point in voting an an R primary

Do they even one him one?

His biggest problem is that his district has been greatly reshaped, so he's going to be new to many of the voters. And many of his views are too conservative for progressive primary voters. But he's an excellent politician, and I expect he'll get the Democratic nomination. But I wouldn't be shocked if he did not.

He doesn’t fit his new district at all. That said, the fact that he has two challengers will probably dilute the opposition vote and kee him in power. One of the two should drop out so his new district doesn’t get stuck with him.

He was pretty popular with his old district and the demographics arent that different.

He will win reelection easily.

I hope so, though I know others may differ.

I can never dislike him after his efforts to get kids back in school

I'm following this primary race very closely. And, while what has been said upthread is v true re: Chap being conservative compared to his district/the average primary voter, he also seems to be light years past his opponents as far as getting out and talking to voters is concerned. I assume this is a function of his being a very experienced politician with $$ in the bank.

One example: his opponents both held their campaign kickoff parties on the same weekend. Meaning, they were jut getting started raising $, getting volunteers, etc. But Chap already had literature and yard signs printed and was out distributing them and knocking on doors. He also has enough $$ that he can afford to pay people to knock on doors for him, while his opponents are relying on volunteers to help them. And I imagine that he will be able to afford LOTS of mailers, social ads, etc.

I met Erika Yalowitz a few weeks ago and she is VERY impressive. I hope Saddam drops out and gets behind her.

Chap? No.

blue virginia is an extremely left group- if they are polling 'their' readers I'm not surprised they were ready to ditch Chap.
I'm in his new district and I am super impressed by him. He was out knocking on doors and introducing himself last summer. He is a thoughtful independent thinker. It may be that our politics have become too tribalistic to appreciate a politician like Chap- but I will definitely be voting for him.
Even if he hadn't knocked on my door- I would have supported him for all the efforts he made to get kids back in school.

He definitely has money and a machine but that doesn’t make him the best candidate.

I hope Erika drops out and endorses Saddam. Then we could actually defeat Chap.
