Currently, we’re not even close. He has the leverage now to get commitments from the mayor, yet he’s never mentioned it once. Again, he’s not an at large member, he’s the Ward 3 member. I hope he starts acting like it on issues like crime and schools.

He has been in the office for a month. What do you expect? Let's see where the budget ends up and what the progress on the new schools are by the end of the summer.

Not to be Nadeau’s sheep and to say things he run on vs. complete demagoguery

The legislation won't change someones actions.

Getting kids jobs, more engaged in education, food on the table etc, will.

The city spends hundreds of millions of dollars annually on these activities. It’s not a lack of money. It’s a lack of accountability and expectations.

And what exactly do you expect from a freshman councilmember one month into the job?

NP. Frumin’s selling point was his experience. I think it was fair to believe that he wouldn’t need some sort of grace period. His behavior and performance since joining the Council has been what you’d expect of an inexperienced 20-something. However, because of his age, you cannot give him the presumption that he will grow, learn and change. So it’s much more likely that the Frumin we all see now will be the same 3 years from now. That should worry everyone.

Every time he speaks to the need for affordable housing, which is pretty much every time he speaks, he needs to say “before we can add new neighbors we have to ensure we have adequate space in our schools.” We can’t get this wrong.

He had no specific policy ideas during the campaign and of course has none now.

Prior to his election, he said:
And, many people are deeply concerned about crime. Together, we must attack each of these issues.

After his election, he mentioned crime:

I mean other than to reduce sentences for crimes.

Frumin is a pick-me that always wanted to hold elected office.
Ran for congress in Michigan. Luckily he found DC. 😜

PP said it well, he was supposed to be an experienced policymaker who could hit the ground running as a liberal-but-not-hyper-progressive member. What has he done to meaningfully shape local policy since taking office? He hasn’t introduced new priorities to the Council. He hasn’t introduced new policy ideas. He hasn’t shifted ongoing initiatives. Literally the council would be no different without him. And his answer to every policy question seems to be its complex, so let’s bring the community together to work it out. That’s not leadership.

He took a question about crime at the recent community forum. His response emphasized mental health.

Let me guess, he used mental health to excuse crime but did not propose a mental health solution that would reduce crime?

Well, he changed his logo but took the term "Ward 3 for All" from the housing advocates.

He’s going to be gone after one term.
