What’s the biggest age gap among siblings you’ve ever seen or known, especially full siblings?

Not even close.

My friend had her 3 kids all 8 years apart.

26 years. My FIL and his older brother. Full siblings. The older brother and two siblings were born when the parents were in their early 20s. FIL was a surprise “I thought I was in menopause” baby when his mother was 48.

It made things generationally weird. It was hard on FIL. His parents were ready to be grandparents not parents. All his relatives died when he was relatively young because they were so much older. My DH did not know his grandparents much at all.

All in all it made me very careful with peri menopause birth control.

My oldest dc is 30 and my youngest is 8

I had oldest when I was 21, had my other dcs' in my 20's, then had 8yo at age 43. Dc is the light of all our lives!

My great-grandmother had a full younger sister who was 27 years younger. They were the oldest and youngest in a family of 13. Their mother was a tiny little woman who somehow lived to be 96 despite all the pregnancies.

Not necessarily. My mom was the older middle of six siblings. There was a 20-year span between the oldest and youngest sibling. There is now a 25-year span between the oldest and youngest cousin. The oldest cousin had her first baby when my mother's youngest sibling had her last. None were teen mothers, but all of them had their first babies in their 20s, mainly on the early side, with my mom and her next sibling having their first in their mid 20s.

Large families with a big spread were common when l was a kid in the 80’s - my parents are Mormons.

They will say this isn’t the case, but the women are 2nd class citizens. They will say the man is the head of the household. Same same IMO

I was born 19 years after my brother. We have the same birthday! Full siblings (Catholic family with many siblings in between).

Growing up, I had a neighbor maybe two years older than I am. His siblings went to high school with my dad who was 27 when I was born.

Statistically speaking, women who have babies later in life (40+) live longer. The theory is that extended fertility is an indication of longevity.
