| Too many calories for me to enjoy more than once or twice a year after snow shoveling or winter sports. I like the flavor in candies, though. |
A lot of people are boozing (and/or getting stoned) while remote working. https://www.marketwatch.com/story/us-alcohol-sales-spike-during-coronavirus-outbreak-2020-04-01 |
Is it really that many calories if you skip the whipped cream? Whiskey and Bailey’s is probably ~ 200 calories. But your not putting in sugar and cream you may have otherwise put in. |
Are you reading the articles you’re quoting? You posted an article from April 2020. Yes, many people turned to alcohol during the pandemic as their mental health suffered. You keep validating my point, not yours. Your article does NOT mean most people drink while working in any given time. |
| I think it is an after dinner drink, not a morning drink. |
That’s why it’s usually on the dessert menus at restaurants. |
WFH all week so I’m putting a little Bushmills and Baileys in my morning coffee.
|
Whipped cream and sugar cube can make it sweet and dessert-like. Better without either imo. |
That is the least of Mike’s problems. However, Mike’s business is hardly what most people do for a living. Generally if a motor vehicles employee, judge, cashier, teacher, radiology tech, lawyer, plumber, or mortician is drinking alcohol in their daily morning coffee, we think about alcohol dependency. |
Or it just tastes good and soothing. I don’t think anyone is getting even buzzed off a splash of whiskey in their coffee. |

Anyone else drink Irish coffee or Keoke coffee at bars in the 80s? I am old and truly can’t remember if they were popular or I somehow thought it was a sophisticated drink at night in a bar with dancing-no postprandial aspect at all. |
| I just had one last night for the first time in years. They're really not my thing, but I can see why people like them. Very warming and festive. |
Correct! As a bartender I had many a customer turn up their nose at their Irish Coffee and ask where the Bailey’s was…there’s just Jameson in an Irish coffee! Zero customers who ordered an Irish Coffee actually wanted one. They wanted coffee and Bailey’s, maaaaaybe a little whiskey. |

I WFH and have never drunk before I was done with work. I find the idea very strange.
Honestly in the occasions I have indulged in morning drinking, even back in college, it just made me want to go take a nap (yes, even if I also had coffee). Just felt sluggish all day. I don't get the appeal. |
And what is the problem with that? |
