As in, do WFH and even office workers drink these regularly during the week?
My in-laws made me my first one ever this weekend with a dollop of fresh whipped cream on top. Holy cow, I can see how this could be super addicting! I could totally see people pouring those tiny travel bottles of 50ML Jameson and 50ML Bailey’s into their Starbucks cup during the work week. So dangerous. |
| You’re asking how common it is for people to drink at work? |
| Most offices today aren’t like Mad Men, OP. |
| I’ve never heard of anyone drinking them at work/during the week. People who drink at work are alcoholics and the vast majority of them aren’t going to bother making a fancy Irish coffee. They’re putting vodka in a soda cup and hoping no one notices. |
| You can get the taste without the alcohol with Irish cream creamer. |
| So these are more a weekend brunch thing? I am not a drinker at all, so sorry for the naive questions. I can just see how they’re so inviting people could easily be lulled into doing it during the week. Not to get blitz all work day but they do down so easy and then you’re buzzed and high on caffeine to start the workday. |
You’re naive if you don’t think remote workers aren’t getting blasted. |
You really can’t understand how inappropriate it is if people drink at work?! You don’t need to drink to understand that. |
| Never during work. It’s an option similar to a mimosa or Bloody Mary if you want a brunch alcoholic drink. Definitely yummy but I don’t make a habit of drinking alcohol before noon. |
You’re exaggerating if you think it’s the norm. |
Not out of the question at Sunday brunch but that’s usually mimosas. Irish coffee is definitely a holiday thing to me, like Christmas morning, or sometimes after dinner. |
An inconspicuous shot of whiskey and Bailey’s in your coffee is not quite the same as openly drinking martinis and scotch on the rocks in your office. |
Irish coffee is a common Winter after dinner drink. |
Define drink. A single morning drink is not the same as drinking all day at work. On the TV series ‘Mayor of Kingston’ actor Jeremy Renner pours whiskey into his morning coffee in his office, but he doesn’t booze all day. |
| Irish coffee is one of my favorite après-ski treats! |
