Menstrual Pad disposal at Home - What do you use?

I always wrap in the plastic wrapper the new pad comes in. Doesn’t everyone so that? You are presumably discarding a used pad/tampon and replacing it with a fresh one, yes?

I use OB tampons so they only have a bit of plastic around them, not enough to wrap the old one in. I use TP.

Did you live in a warm country without air conditioning? Because that would be the only reason for the aluminium foil, to trap odors.

Foil makes noise in the bathroom (your teen isn't going to enjoy drawing attention to herself) and trashing quantities of it is very bad for the environment. Don't do it.

Who tf keeps foil in their bathroom?!!

You are gross and weird!

I wrap mine up and put it in the new pad wrapper and toss it in the trash can. Otherwise, I'd use TP.

Why wrap it? I just fling my tampons into the trash. There is a bag in the can isn't there?

Wait. Do you collect empty tp rolls? Are some “spare” because others are needed? Otherwise, how often can you coincidentally end the roll at the same time?

Yeah but the next person to use the bathroom doesn’t want to see your nasty, bloody plug in the trash can.

I always wear a panty liner with tampons, so tampon goes in old panty liner, inside panty liner wrap and then discarded. TP also works. Aluminum foil seems like overkill.

I don’t think younger people use pads so I wouldn’t suggest them to a teenager! Cups and menstrual underwear are what most people use. Or tampons.

We always have a covered trash can at home because we have dogs.

Cannot believe this question? Tin foil?? OP, when do you do all your years between moving away out of your mom’s house up to now having a teen daughter? Please tell me you didn’t continue to use tin foil. How does that even work? Do you keep a roll of it in the bathroom? Super weird and surely you realized early on no one else does this

Same, love OB. If I travel, I do take a few extra biodegradable dog poop bags with me.

I use Ubbi diaper bags from my baby. Lol. Does the job.

DD is 10 but started over the summer. I showed her how to roll it up and then she throws it in her bathroom trash can with a lid. We do the same with ours ( 2 mom family). We have trash cans in all our bathrooms so that’s where they go.
