Menstrual Pad disposal at Home - What do you use?

Anonymous
What product or bagging method do you use for menstrual pad disposal at home? As my teen is starting her cycle, I grew up in a home where my mother advised me to use aluminum foil and my MIL would use paper sandwich bags in her home.

When I had kids I started using the diaper disposal bags but I would like to simplify things if possible. what recommendation do you have?

TP! Never heard of anyone using aluminum foil. Do you carry it in your purse?

Just…..why???? I don’t just carelessly toss them in the trash but I don’t go through some great lengths to hide the fact that I bleed. The most I do is wrap it in some TP.

Never heard of this. Always just wrapped in toilet paper or tissue and empty bathroom trash outdoor at least daily.

Girl, what? Wrap it in a little toilet paper and toss it in the bathroom trash can. It’s not a biohazard!

Wrap in TP. Done!

I'll dissent. Having grown up poorer, we could not afford to wrap in tp. That would be a waste.

You can roll it up, blood side in, and put it in the individual wrap that it comes with, if that is the kind you use.

I had "reading" material in my bathroom. Things like newspapers, or thick prospectus from some fund I have in my 401k, or whatever else ridiculously thick print material I get from companies. I tear a few pages out, and wrap the pad in them.

Actually, I'm now in menopause, and let me tell you, not having my period is the only thing I love about being in menopause.

When I used pads in my younger days, that’s always what I did.

Toilet paper and make my DH take out the trash. If I have to deal with this crap, so does he.

I wrap in toilet paper, or the wrapping the next pad comes in, and throw in the bathroom trash can.

Please explain the foil and sandwich paper, OP. This is insane stuff!
