MCPS closed tomorrow

Yeah, that's annoying. They've never opened after announcing a closure and if they do it tomorrow it will be a complete mess. Just make a decision and stick with it. This is a freak situation that has never happened before and will probably never happen again, and we all know they're flying by the seat of their pants. They could hardly do anything else. I don't know what the knock-on effect of central office outages is; operating MCPS is like parallel parking the Titanic, so I'm willing to give the benefit of the doubt that they genuinely believe they can't open safely. But show leadership and don't waffle about it.

It’s so rough to be a teacher— needing to briefly wake up at 5am to get your paid day off.

it is so obvious that the hair dryer poster is not a teacher.
ignore and move on.

I’m not a teacher, I’m a parent and I’m tired as hell.

They described themselves as an mcps teacher. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t believe them on that.

It seems like you shouldn’t be up after midnight then.

Aren’t you going to have to wake up in the morning to get ready for work?

You can't possibly be serious. This is an anonymous website. Anyone can (and does) say they're anything. I, personally, am Kim Jong Un. I've described myself thus, so I'm not sure why you wouldn't believe me on that.

Did you look at the context of the post in that thread? It didn’t come up in a post that had a negative tone toward teachers.

1. it’s an anonymous forum
2. i actually am a teacher and have witnessed the incredibly hateful things that have been said about us over the last 2.5 years, this reads as a pissed off parent or troll who just wants to stir the pot.

be kind to one another. it really isn’t that hard

Teachers are the cause of everyones problem yet y’all rely on teachers to babysit for you. Make up your mind.

We (parents) also hate the anti-teacher poster or posters. I'm convinced it's a fringe group of politically motivated trolls and not actually a parent.

Why are you surprised? It’s transparently an excuse to give teachers an extra day off.

Dcum will always blame the teachers union or teachers. Maybe a teacher secretly crashed the plane
Anonymous
Pepco is saying everyone has power. Open the schools.
Anonymous
Only 21% of schools were impacted as of midnight, probably far fewer now. MCPS should open all schools that have power.
Anonymous
They updated that even though power is back, schools are still closed
