Offices are closed too so the whole system is shut down. That's more than a regular snow day.

It would also make zero sense to have virtual school when the reason for closure is power outages.

Not all of us, including you have power outages.

So many homes are getting power back. I’m surprised they didn’t wait until the morning to see how many schools actually didn’t have power.

Day after Thanksgiving weekend, nobody brought devices home, nobody planned, nobody expected this at all. It's a freak incident.

The mention of food services in the previous update has me wondering if some central distribution location lost power and a bunch of food for tomorrow's lunches got ruined.

Food deliveries for this week were done 1-2 weeks ago. It probably has more to do with bus depot outages.

They are likely to lose it again as they still haven’t grounded the plane….this is going to be a minute..

Power will likely not stay on. Once they begin the actual rescue, it will go back off. Probably at dawn

Are the schools on generators or are those 2 week old deliveries festering?

They're probably getting more info from Pepco and MCFRS than is being shared with the public.

I received an email that DBAT lost power and it is right next to MCPS food services.
