Bullet strikes family home of N.C. congressional candidate

I thought Republicans loved guns. What's the problem here? Someone was a bad shot hunting. It's the cost of doing business, 2A forever, thoughts and prayers for...well, nothing, no one was hurt. Move along, nothing to see here.

This highlights, again, the difference between Democrat ethics and Republican ethics.

While Kari Lake refuses to apologize for her comments, and tons of Republicans have campaign ads holding and shooting guns, and threatening violence, here is a Democrat candidate pulling an ad.

You know who especially loves guns? Pat Harrigan

He's made a fortune manufacturing weapons and ammunition.

Pat Harrigan is an owner of ZRODelta, UnBrandedAR, US Optics, and several other firearms industry companies. He is a 2009 West Point graduate with a degree in Nuclear Engineering, and culminated his time in service as a Detachment Commander in the Special Forces (Green Berets), serving over 18 months in combat. Pat is an accomplished entrepreneur, inventor, and writer, and is an expert in firearms design, manufacturing, and global industry regulatory matters.

In early 2015 while still on active duty, Pat and his wife Rocky started a firearm parts supply company from their double-wide trailer home. Pat and his partners now operate a 120,000 square foot facility complex situated on 76 acres in North Carolina. It is the only facility in the United States where firearms parts, complete firearms, mounting solutions, optics, and ammunition are all manufactured under one roof. He and his wife Rocky attend Church regularly and have two beautiful daughters.

Nowhere does it what there was guns shooting in the ad.

No it apparently had a photo of the guy’s house in it!

Not the house that was shot at. The ad talked about the Republican’s lake house, which wasn’t shot at. The house that was shot at was never mentioned.

Shooting occurred the day after the ad aired. Not hard to use public tax records

The house wasn’t even the candidate’s house. It’s his parents house.

The shooting happened on October 18. A bullet coming from a heavily wooded area hit Harrigan's parents' house. Harrigan's kids were sleeping in the house at the time. Police and FBI are investigating. There was no announcement at the time this happened.

A week later, on October 25, Harrigan posted an open letter to his opponent, Jeff Jackson, complaining about a bunch of things, including the ad that showed his lake house. (Apparently there is a question as to whether Harrigan actually lives in the congressional district). Letter doesn't mention the shooting although he says he's received death threats and wears a "low-profile bulletproof vest."

Open letter:

When Harrigan's campaign finally told the media about the shooting this week (after the Pelosi attack and Biden's speech) they originally said it was Harrigan's own house, but they corrected that, saying it was a "typo."

FBI has joined the investigation, but it hasn't been determined if the shooting was intentional or an accident.

Potentially a stray bullet during hunting season. It’s the height of deer season right now in NC and dusk is when you hunt deer.

GOP ads have had crosshairs over Dem opponents! No one pulled those ads.

HICKORY, N.C. (WBTV) – Democrat Jeff Jackson has pulled a campaign ad that focused on a house owned by his opponent, Pat Harrigan. The move comes weeks after police began investigating a bullet that was shot into a house owned by Harrigan’s parents.

The Jackson campaign pulled the ad from WBTV late Thursday morning.

The ad centered on a lake house owned by Harrigan in Catawba County and ends with a shot of Jackson standing in front of a house on a lake.

The shooting happened in October, when Harrigan’s parents and children were in the house, a Harrigan spokesman confirmed.

A spokeswoman for the Hickory Police Department confirmed they are investigating the shooting.

Jeff Jackson Pulls Campaign Ad As Police Investigate Shooting Into Opponent’s Family Home

HICKORY, N.C. — Senator Jeff Jackson, the Democrat running for the NC-14 congressional seat, has pulled a political ad from WCCB-TV and other Charlotte TV stations that showed a house owned by his Republican opponent Pat Harrigan. The decision was in response to a Twitter post from Harrigan that accused Jackson’s campaign of threatening political violence.

The children of the republican candidate are now in hiding. Someone shot into their home.

You seem confused. I heard it was a gay lover concerned about a pedophiles ring in the basement of the guys house. Apparently it is all proven on 4-8 lap tops that came out of Computer repair shop near Mar Largo. Seems like crime follows these republicans around.

Interesting how you make light of a serious situation. I can only imagine the blowback of someone made a joke like this about the Pelosi attack. Good to know Dems are the hypocrites they’ve always been.

They sound like good, decent people. He’s a Veteran and a small business owner. Exactly the type of person I’d want representing me in a legislative body.

So someone was hunting behind a private home?

I'm sure the ad included the footage of him/his house to prove some kind of point: that he is wealthy enough to own a lake house, taxes, etc. Obviously the GOP candidate had filmed this footage of himself because I can't imagine him sitting for his opponent's ad. Unless he surreptitiously filmed it, which would also be problematic. Without seeing the ad, it's hard to make a judgment call, but it was the right thing to do after making a bad judgment call.

The image of the house in the Ad is because Harrigan doesn’t live in the district he wants to represent in congress. I believe his family primarily lives full time at the lake house in another part of the state.

You can hunt at dusk. And let’s get real - plenty of hunters break the laws when it comes to hunting hours, hunting out of season, property trespassing, etc.

It came from the woods right behind the house. JFC
