Nowhere does it what there was guns shooting in the ad.

No it apparently had a photo of the guy’s house in it!

Not the house that was shot at. The ad talked about the Republican’s lake house, which wasn’t shot at. The house that was shot at was never mentioned.

I'm sure the ad included the footage of him/his house to prove some kind of point: that he is wealthy enough to own a lake house, taxes, etc. Obviously the GOP candidate had filmed this footage of himself because I can't imagine him sitting for his opponent's ad. Unless he surreptitiously filmed it, which would also be problematic. Without seeing the ad, it's hard to make a judgment call, but it was the right thing to do after making a bad judgment call.

My post above yours was informational. It was pointing out that unlike GOP candidates, his ad didn’t have crosshairs over his opponent or a gun. It was just a clip of his house. BFD! After GOP ads with crosshairs, not sure the GOP can point at Dems and say they’re responsible for the increasing violence. It’s ludicrous but completely inline with the GOP tactics.

Shooting occurred the day after the ad aired. Not hard to use public tax records

But that can be true for every candidate running.

Except this candidate had a home his children and parents were sleeping in shot at.

Let's back up.

The shooting happened on October 18. A bullet coming from a heavily wooded area hit Harrigan's parents' house. Harrigan's kids were sleeping in the house at the time. Police and FBI are investigating. There was no announcement at the time this happened.

A week later, on October 25, Harrigan posted an open letter to his opponent, Jeff Jackson, complaining about a bunch of things, including the ad that showed his lake house. (Apparently there is a question as to whether Harrigan actually lives in the congressional district). Letter doesn't mention the shooting although he says he's received death threats and wears a "low-profile bulletproof vest."

Open letter:

When Harrigan's campaign finally told the media about the shooting this week (after the Pelosi attack and Biden's speech) they originally said it was Harrigan's own house, but they corrected that, saying it was a "typo."

FBI has joined the investigation, but it hasn't been determined if the shooting was intentional or an accident.

Huh. So there is really more to THIS story than meets the eye.

This is why people are cynical towards GOP claims!

And as someone who lives in North Carolina (not this district, though), the Dem candidate Jeff Jackson is a class act! I have been following him online for a few years. Great person, great candidate. Hope he makes it onto the national stage.

Potentially a stray bullet during hunting season. It’s the height of deer season right now in NC and dusk is when you hunt deer.

That’s a huge leap. It wasn’t the house. The ad was a simple campaign ad, not incitement against the house in the ad or any other house. The ad had nothing to do with the shooting.

The house wasn’t even the candidate’s house. It’s his parents house.

10 bucks says there’s a deer blind within a half mile away in those woods.

So the Republican campaign is trying to link things that are completely unrelated. And his house is not in the district.
