NYC has 4 airports.

This is the most first world problem I've seen in the DCUM bubble for awhile.

We have 3 airports at our fingertips. We're close enough to Philadelphia and Newark airports. We have Amtrak service. We have easy access to major highways.

LA has 4 major airports: LAX, Burbank, Ontario & Orange County.

Best thing about BWI is how crazy cheap long-term parking is. You can park for 2 weeks and still save money over an Uber or taxi.

+1 I'm the "hate IAD" poster. I much prefer BWI but since it's small, and not a hub, the destinations aren't that varied. But, I much prefer flying out of BWI to LHR than IAD. Better flight times, too.

Okay. It's fine if you want to style yourself as a "BWI booster," but please. Get real. BWI has one daily flight offered by BA four times a week that is heavily subsidized by the State of Maryland. IAD has multiple flights each day offered by BA, United, and Virgin Atlantic. To suggest that BWI has better flight times is complete BS.

DP. What does your point have to do with PPs? Does a subsidy somehow make it less convenient? Why are you so angry at BWI?

NP. What a strange response. Who's angry? I happen to agree with the PP's point, which was clearly saying that it's ridiculous to suggest that BWI is somehow competitive or even preferable to Dulles when it comes to international service.

Both airports serve their purpose in the region.

All 4 are major?

Limited on location?
IAD is not only international.
There are hardly distance limits anymore, thanks to Members of Congress.

So no. You're wrong.

NYC has 4 airports.

What do you think the fourth is? Islip? Trenton?

Where exactly would this 4th airport be located?

Manassas where the current regional airport is located.

Dulles is practically in Manassas.

Actually, the NYC metro area has six: Newark, LGA, JFK, Islip, Westchester, and Stewart.

Trenton is more in Philly's sphere of influence.

Stewart and Islip should NOT count. Come on.

How about by National Harbor?

We don't need a 4th airport. It's just that IAD is really terrible. Nothing worse than getting crammed into those weird shuttle buses between terminals after a long international flight. Tear it down and rebuild from scratch.

Where?

And that’s not far from dca anyway. And Andrews.

You’re trolling.
