4th DC Area Airport

Anonymous
We need a 4th airport in this area. With BWI crowded and limited on location, Dulles only catering to international destinations and National having distnace limits, its time we have a 4th airport open up.

Dulles has domestic flights as well, and is woefully otherwise underutilized.

Where exactly would this 4th airport be located?

Manassas where the current regional airport is located.

When I owned a plane I kept it at Montgomery Airpark. Just get your own plane.

How about we improve our rail network and use the airports for longer distance flights. Trains are so much more comfortable.

We don't need a fourth airport. There's plenty of room to expand Dulles' capacity on its current footprint.

IAD and DCA will continue to cater to the region's business and leisure travelers while BWI will remain a mecca for the budget airline experience.

Huh? I just flew in from Dallas to IAD.

You can also drive 2 hrs to Richmond or 3 hours to Philly.

Why? Neither of those places offer flights to destinations not served by our airports.

You said they were too busy. You have other options.

Dulles is a hub for United.

If NYC can get by with three airports, the DC area can, too.

That's debatable. All three are lousy.

Although I agree that DC does not need a 4th airport.
