4th DC Area Airport

If Montgomery County was smarter, they would have built a more direct road to the airpark from 270 and wouldn’t have allowed developers to surround the airpark with housing. It could have been an awesome airport for catering to regional flights on turboprops and private jets.

Lol. Hell would freeze over before MoCo allowed a commercial airport within its borders.

Huh? I just flew in from Dallas to IAD.

Right? Dulles has lots of domestic connections.

Dulles is a hub for United.

And? So flying to NYC/Atlanta/Chicago/Denver/Charlotte/Houston/Dallas/Salt Lake City/Seattle/LA/SF/Phoenix don't count??

Where exactly would this 4th airport be located?

Manassas where the current regional airport is located.

The metro doesn't go to Manassas.

like PP said, we keep our plane at the airpark in Gaithersburg.
We are not the only jet there so it is well known to those who need it

I avoid IAD if I can. Worst airport.

BWI is a great airport.

Best thing about BWI is how crazy cheap long-term parking is. You can park for 2 weeks and still save money over an Uber or taxi.

Doesn’t go to BWI either. What’s the point?

Huh?? You can fly to all of these from both National AND Dulles. Nonstop for most of them-even from DCA. Distance limits no longer seem to exist.

It may be a great airport for budget and ultra-low-cost passengers, but it sucks for business travel.

+1 I'm the "hate IAD" poster. I much prefer BWI but since it's small, and not a hub, the destinations aren't that varied. But, I much prefer flying out of BWI to LHR than IAD. Better flight times, too.

Let’s not even get started on how embarrassing Dulles’s international arrival trams are.

Okay. It's fine if you want to style yourself as a "BWI booster," but please. Get real. BWI has one daily flight offered by BA four times a week that is heavily subsidized by the State of Maryland. IAD has multiple flights each day offered by BA, United, and Virgin Atlantic. To suggest that BWI has better flight times is complete BS.

DP. What does your point have to do with PPs? Does a subsidy somehow make it less convenient? Why are you so angry at BWI?
