Gorgeous in AU Park

AU Park is a beautiful, walkable, and desirable neighborhood. Wish I could afford to live there.

That’s the going rate for a 5+ br in AU park. Whether you personally would pay that much to live there is a different question, but the market very much supports these prices.

It’s terrible bc the neighborhood stinks. Save and see if you can do better in Kent or Cleveland Park. Otherwise, prepare for your kids to be slaked by the depravity of AU Park.

OK, your opinion does not seem to be widely shared. Many people would really like to live in AU Park. Plus, it's closer than Cleveland Park to all of the amenities of Bethesda (athletic facilities, trails, shopping).

Haha. And of course this board was convinced that it was overpriced at $1.8m

I do think it was overpriced at $1.8 million. I wouldn't have paid that much for it. I also think my house in AU Park is overpriced at the Redfin estimate of $1.6 million.

We definitely have different ideas of gorgeous. Personally I wouldn't pay $2m to walk into that cramped foyer and throughout that bad layout, no matter how walkable it was.

Bc people don’t want to save and aim higher. AU is the height of mediocrity.

I would have said that in the 90s when we moved here, but not now.

There are only 3 colors in the entire house including the floors, grey, white and brown. It's a no.

The mania for AU Park continues and some have said that it’s mostly about UMC groupthink. I largely agree AND have stated here that UMC groupthink, especially in DC, is a sign of very poor self-awareness in Democratic-aligned circles. And that poor self-awareness will express itself in poor electoral outcomes: watch!

Yes, very modest.

If the main thing you don't like about a house is the color its walls are painted, that's an easy fix.
