Pitt decisions

No. Pitt is rolling decision, processed in order received. Summertime submissions find out a few weeks after review starts on Sept 1. Later submissions take longer as the backlog grows.

No. Most schools do not. That info will not come until early next year.

I don’t know what most schools do, but last year DD got notified of merit aid in the beginning of October and guaranteed grad school admission shortly thereafter (3.5 GPA required).

To confirm last post, merit aid announcements have historically started in October for earlier admits. Merit is not included with acceptance notice

Last year, my kid's merit came about 2 weeks after acceptance.

Pitt does not have ED, EA, RD....they are rolling. And you have until the normal deadline to decide. May 1 (give/take a day)

To clarify, 2 weeks after acceptance to the school, when they were admitted.

Acceptance was early Sept, merit/scholarship 2 weeks later.

Can you apply to a rolling school like Pitt and also ED elsewhere, with the understanding you have to commit to the ED school if you get in?

It probably doesn’t help it’s for Computer Science and his scores are dead center for admitted students last year in CS. I’m guessing they are admitting the higher stats kids first even though they’re unlikely to go there. My DC really wants to go there b/c CS is not part of the engineering school at Pitt. It’s its own school.

Just for the record, my DC, I think, counts as a higher stat kid, but Pitt is super high on his list. Also comp sci. They have a very appealing program there. Hope we both get good news.
