Lol why are you all so bothered by my fairly innocuous opinion on this? OP asked, I answered. You’re acting like I’m demanding to see people’s medical history or I will rip their CGM right off! I can’t stop you from paying whatever ridiculous amount you want to monitor your blood sugar as a hobby. It’s a boring way to spend your time but knock your socks off I guess. |
Oh please enlighten me. Show me a fat anorexic. How come even the morbidly obese lose weigh on my 600 Lb lid when they reduce calories? If you feel better blaming weight on insulin spikes and making excuses turn go for it. |
OP. Here's a strategy. Put down the fork. Much cheaper and more effective than a CGM for someone with a functioning pancreas. |
Oh, what a fun new brand of eating disorder |
The majority of T1 diabetics have eating disorders. But since it's better than the alternative, doctors usually ignore it. |
where did you get this "fact" from? ^^^ |
NP, I think that pp was trying to communicate is that eating disorders are more prevalent among T1 diabetics than regular population because of constant fretting about the effects of food. Hopefully, that’s easing up with the new diabetes tech that allows for a somewhat more normal life (cgm, closed loop pumps, etc.). - a different t1 who also finds regulars using cgms to be vaguely offensive (just as I find people who wear glasses without prescription lenses and have fake emotional support animals trite) |
I used Signos for 3 months and I'm glad I did. You can use your flexible spending account
There's another thread on this under glucose monitors. I'm a Dr. Mark Hyman devotee - he talks about insulin resistance and blood sugar all the time - sees it as a risk factor for so many conditions. I didn't need to make radical changes because I was already following a lower gylcemic diet. But I did learn a lot. Having a banana alone spiked me v. having a banana along with other foods. Walking after meals did help too. Diet soft drinks spiked me. I switched from oat milk to almond milk. When I scored 100% for the day I felt incredible. The more spikes you have the more you crave. It's good to not have the weight loss process be harder than it already is. Good luck. |
