She's been dead for decades. Let it go. Diana was never going to be Queen but her son will be King.

Would be interesting to do a survey in England now and in five years who their favorite royal is/was/are?

Here is my top 3:

1) Diana
2) Kate
3) Elizabeth II

And in the interim, not really allowed to do anything else. Like even if he wanted to, it's not like he could have gone and become a doctor or an airline pilot or started a business (I know he didn't want to do these things but also he was raised to not want them so it's questionable whether he really had a choice at all). Instead he had to sit around for 50+ years to do the one thing he's supposed to do.

And now he finally has that job and many people hope he finds a way to abolish himself, or at least trim the role down so much that potentially future monarchs could have other careers and lead more normal lives. And he's in his 70s.

I'm American and not some royal family fetishist. I just find the personal perspective fascinating because it's a very singular position to be in. I simply cannot imagine being in that role, and I have a good imagination! It fascinates me.

Agree. I think he’ll let William help him shape things a bit. After all it is part of the apprenticeship aspect of the monarch.

If Elizabeth died suddenly, what would Camilla’s title be? I guess it was determined long before the Queen officially announced it. Would Philip as king grant her a higher title or is there a default royal title?

Why would you think Philip would’ve ever been king???

What's the soonest amount of time you can take to get rid of a Prime Minister? Obviously if the nobles could she would be out today, however based on that idiot Boris...24 months seems a minimum.

I'm going to enjoy this...its like watching the greatest reality show ever. Liz has a meeting with Charles, her first audience, this week I think.

She becomes King Mother.

Just like Elizabeth’s mom was Queen Mother.

Elizabeth's mother was only Queen Mom because she shared the same name as her daughter. That's it. The press needed a way to differentiate them especially as they often appeared in public together.

He looks like he's barely holding himself back from skipping gleefully down the street screaming "I'm KING! You guys, I'm KINGGGGG!"

I mean...its like the ultimate birthday and he's been waiting for 7 decades lol. But he looked so sad the day after Phillip died even though they fought like cats and dogs. Funny how things turn out.

King Charles just had his first address. I thought it was quite good and he even mentioned his well-wishes for Harry and Meghan so there can’t be any headlines about a snub there.

He mentioned his "love" for Harry and Meghan

I thought he did a fantastic job of that speech. He had me in tears.
