Sad about Lauryn Ricketts leaving NBC4 and her dream job

Anonymous
This hits too close to home. I am working in my dream job and my DH hates living in DC. He is actively trying to move and says we've been here forever (true) and I can find another job I'll like just as much (no, I can't, for many reasons).

This might be be in a year. It sucks. I'm sure there's tons of resentment.

But if someone mentioned in an earlier post, if he’s been away for 2 years, I’d want to be with him. He’s not in the military anymore?

I’m the opposite. Don’t drag me to Hawaii. But the opportunity to live in Prague? That would be amazing.

The amount of times she's posted about here is so weird to me

Honey, a lot of us sacrificed dream careers for the sake of our families. There’s no medal. He served his country and they’re making a choice for their family. Move on.

If you're truly working your dream job , then you shouldn't move for anything. However, if you chose to move, its your responsibility and yours only.

Why is it characterized as giving it up for a man? She was living in this area fine without him for multiple years while they pursued separate dream careers.

In reality she’s giving it up for the baby it seems? Which is her choice but not the man’s fault.

Read the thread. The man's job is in Prague- she is moving there for his job.

Um, it’s Prague, which sounds pretty nice, and it’s her dh with whom she has a baby. And no offense to Lauryn’s career, but weather people don’t make tons of money, except maybe Al Roker. She’s doing what makes sense for her and her family. I wish them the best, and I hope we get to see her on the air again down the road.

Prague sounds nice to YOU. Weather people may not make a ton of money but it was HER dream job not yours. Additionally, lets not pretend that her husband is also making tons of money, he's a DOD contractor not the head of coca cola Europe.

Furthermore, if and when they come back, she'll most likely find herself unable to work in tv again, Nbc4 is not her house . Every year, throngs of young, good looking, and eager to please women are knocking on the doors of these local tv stations for a spot.

I get what you’re saying but this wasn’t an oops pregnancy. She fought for this and unfortunately you can’t do live weather predictions for Arlington from Prague.

So…whatever.

I just saw Lauryn Ricketts doing the weather for NBC4 this morning during Today show. Nice to see her back, wonder if she’s back permanently. Or has been for awhile and I missed it.

Looking at her Instagram, it seems like they’ve moved back the area. Happy to have her back!

She’s very active on ig- Prague post has ended after 3 years and they’re back to DC. Awesome she gets to rejoin the team! Her kid is adorable.

With today’s political climate she probably jumped at the chance to move overseas with her family.

Awesome! I’m glad she’s back.

She is so refreshing to watch on the news.
We live in a busy area with heavy news, in particular in this political climate. I am a bubbly person myself, and I realize that’s not for everybody – but her laughter and her seemingly happy attitude is a nice change from so much seriousness.
Glad she’s back!

There are lots of jobs on TV for 40 somethings, right?

For sure especially bleach blondes with perky tits

Grow up.
