Early Vote was strongly Blair. Election Day vote was marginally Blair. The mail in ballots might skew towards Elrich because he’s more popular with older voters who are more likely to vote by mail. In any case it’s going to be close and it would not have been except for Riemer. |
I can tell you my exact facility. Wootton high school Rockville Maryland |
I worked in Anne Arundel and we literally never once had a line. It was quiet. I’ve worked a general before, but never a primary, so I don’t have a sense of if it was unusually quiet or if this is what primaries are ususlaly like. |
Thanks, Stone Mill Elementary was dead too. |
Maybe it's because I'm in my 50s, but what do you mean with older voters? Like Leisureworld voters? Or my age?

Elrich has proven to be very popular with retirees who are the most reliable voters and most likely to vote by mail. |
One anecdote - my retired dad was vehemently opposed to Elrich and voted for Blair (by mail). So, not universally popular. |
My retiree parents switched from I to D so they could vote by mail for Blair. |
All of the above.
Elrich is also popular in Takoma Park, where folks often vote in person for the social aspect. |

Lublin from Seventh State just said he doesn't think Elrich can make up the difference with mail in ballots. http://www.theseventhstate.com/

+1 exactly me, 52 yrs old. ^explains why retirees like Elrich -- they don't care about schools or economic growth in the county. |
There are a number of precincts that have not reported Election Day results yet, so not all hope is lost for Elrich but it is a long shot for sure and Lublin is generally pretty smart about these things. |
Or ADUs or apartments within sight (let alone their neighborhood, just visible) of their home that they bought 40 years ago |
This is true, but Hans Riemer enacted policies that stripped critical capital funding from schools and gave it directly to developers as a subsidy. He also removed capacity constraints on overcrowding at the same time. It’s one thing not to be concerned about schools and quite another to work to actively destroy them when they are our only regional comparative advantage. |
