I'm not saying he has any chance of ever being elected president, but I do have to disagree with the bolded.

*5 years in the House of Representatives
*three-term MD State Senator in Maryland, where he also served as Majority Whip
*former professor of constitutional law for 20+ years

So no real life experience. Academia and local politics.

And then there are Jews that look more Jewish than Israelis - raskin

Now you do the math and Assign probabilities for national political success

Jamie Raskin is a humanist. https://raskin.house.gov/2022/4/rep-raskin-introduces-resolution-to-create-national-day-of-reason

Thinking Raskin is a kingmaker is foolish and outright dumb... Raskin offered Saturday an 11th hour endorsement for the re-election of County Executive Marc Elrich to a second term, amid a highly competitive Democratic primary.

“I’ve had quite a week defending democracy against … the insurrections and the political violence, and attempts to usurp the will of the people,” Raskin mused – referring to his work as a member of the House of Representatives committee investigating the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. “So I thought I would just swing by to tell everybody I’m voting for Marc Elrich.”

This plus no appeal whatsoever.

No, we aren’t doomed because people go for looks. Good looking people get better jobs. That’s happened forever.

US presidents have always been taller than average. All have been men. Most white. One could argue that is a “look” and that we have been doomed. But it was all just accepted as normal.

Not sure that we need a lawyer with no business or foreign policy experience at a time when inflation is rampant, China is flexing its muscles and Russia is stirring it up.

Also, not that this matters really but, didn’t he and his wife have some Fintech involvement that lead to ethics problems?

What meaningful legislation has he authored and gotten to pass?
Besides leading they impeachment and January 6 hearings, what are his other qualifications?

Governors, except for foreign policy, to me have better qualifications and experience to lead the country. They have to make decisions for the state, make policy, budget and work with their legislatures.

Did we hold Trump to this standard?

Dang, people. We expect Democrats to do so much and let the Repubs slide.

Not sure if it will matter; Hillary was implicated in Whitewater controversy and Bill was elected. But times change.

Ginny Thomas is a conspiracy theorist who tried to overthrow the government. I don’t think whatever Raskin’s wife did will matter unless she killed someone.

Not sure what Ginny Thomas has to do with either Reserve Trust or Whitewater.

Sarah Raskin was on the board of a Colorado fintech trust company, Reserve Trust. It became the first such company to receive valuable access to the Federal Reserve payments system, previously denied, after Raskin made a few calls to the Kansas City Federal Reserve. (The access was reversed this year after the matter was raised in Raskin's nomination hearings and scuttled her nomination.)

Raskin resigned her position on the board in 2020, cashing in the equity she was given for her service for $1.5 million.
