Do pro lifers use oral contraception or IUDs?

Anonymous
Yes, I do. There is a continuum for pro-life just as there is for pro-choice.

.

Ok then get that embryo to grow in your body. You can be like Horton who sat on the egg in the Dr. Auras
Book. Who know maybe it will end up looking like you.

Those "pro lifers" who use birth control and IVF are going to get a shock pretty soon.

Of note, a fertilized egg takes a week to 18 days before it implants, during which it is doing it's thing growing and dividing. If it can't implant due to taking oral contraception or the presence of an IUD, that clump of cells is aborted from the body due to, essentially, medical intervention.

So are you coming for the birth control next?

Yes, they are.

Sheer ignorance.

From Planned Parenthood:

1) Hormonal IUDs make the mucus on your cervix thicker. This mucus blocks sperm so it can’t get to an egg.

2) The hormones in the IUD can also stop eggs from leaving your ovaries (called ovulation), which means there’s no egg for a sperm to fertilize. No egg = no pregnancy.

LOL. Is that “continuum” it not being a life when that’s inconvenient for what you want but is a life for everyone else?

This reduces women to chattel incubators.

As a PS to 08:17, the long post --

Remember, also, that you are asking physicians to make this call at a time when we are more traumatized, stressed, and burned out than we have been in generations. We are exhausted, and we are covering more patients than before with less time and more anger coming straight at our faces.

Nobody wants to give bad care. But if you have two docs doing the work of nine, there isn't a lot of leeway to make the subtle calls and take more time, because someone else is going to be crashing down the hallway.

I'm not in the DC area. My colleague, who delivers babies, dealt with a lot of people at about the same time last night. One was the partner of a different patient -- high on something, stripped to his waist, spitting and swearing. The man yelled that he was going to burn the place down. Took a swing at a nurse. Security called police, and the doc stayed with the female patient and her children until the police came. The doc left, but when she called later to check on her patient at home, the man -- not arrested after all -- answered and threatened to kill her.

And she was delivering babies, And she was assessing for things like fetal demise, and sepsis, and all the rest. And, by the way, she's leaving this job soon and going back to her childhood home. I don't know if she'll still be doing this kind of medicine, or even medicine at all. She has young kids herself.

This is just the way it is these days. Remember the real world setting when you sign off on your support for a bill. How is that actually going to work?

Yes, they were coming for it all along. The only acceptable form of contraception to them is papal roulette, also known as “natural family planning”. It’s very effective for women who are regular like clockwork, and couples who are fine avoiding sex for 14 days per 28 day cycle. Also known as NO ONE, which let’s face it is the point.

My grandparents used this method. They had 12 kids.

My parents used this and actually ran workshops to teach it. It takes restraint and very strict adherence to daily temperature checks. They had one unplanned pregnancy due to a night of wine and impulsivity. Suffice it to say, while the method works, most people do not have the discipline to actually carry it out.

I have an IUD and am considered pro life by the current definition. By my personal definition, I believe in choice for any reason up to 16 weeks so I am not concerned about the IUD and experience no disharmony in my beliefs.

What a wicked thing to do.
What works for you might not work for someone else, so you run around preaching your method and holier than though attitude is shining
We live in an age where a woman has several options available for them. Let it I up to her and her doctor.

I don't think she know how erratic some women's cycles are, and that they become more erratic under stressful situation.

It's not just a matter of "discipline." Sometimes it's "not feasible," regardless of how disciplined you may be.

What is dangerous, is some church elder acting as doctor, pretending to know what they do not and preaching to others
Some of these religious congregations are like cults, with undue pressure on members

Yup- my sister is pro-life, has always used birth control, and on top of that recently came out as bisexual. But thankfully for her, even though she votes straight republican every time, she lives in a blue state.

Why are we taking guidance on sexual health from a bunch of celibate men in robes who are in-the-closet gay, touching kids, or covering up a worldwide kid-touching conspiracy?

What the ever-loving f#ck. Think about how insane these Supreme Court justices are that they follow this crap.

The absolute ignorance and beliefs these men have about our bodies is an embarrassment to this country. How can the greatest nation be controlled by such idiots?
