If so, you're hypocrites. If life begins at conception, these methods can lead to abortion by preventing the fertilized egg from attaching to the uterus, thus being aborted from the body.
In fact, these methods are abortifacient and any pro life woman who uses them is violating her own beliefs. Discuss. |
Yes they do. The vast majority of Catholic women use artificial contraception, which is apparently why the bishops are trying to force everyone to follow their nonsense. They couldn’t convince their own flock to follow their teachings and use “papal roulette” for birth control, and now they want all women to pay. If it’s illegal for everyone they can keep their own women in line. And their own women keep showing up and keep putting money in the pot and keep turning their kids over to them and they SAY NOTHING.

I know two moronic women who do this. They converted in FFS. One was super liberal before and pretends to be still and one was apolitical. Her fascist husband has his claws in her brain now. Here comes baby #6 (and they can’t afford the first 5!). |
If you're pro life and ok with abortifacient contraception, it shows your hypocrisy because you artificially draw a line at what degree of a "clump of cells" you're ok with aborting.
Of note, a fertilized egg takes a week to 18 days before it implants, during which it is doing it's thing growing and dividing. If it can't implant due to taking oral contraception or the presence of an IUD, that clump of cells is aborted from the body due to, essentially, medical intervention. So are you coming for the birth control next? |
The Forced Birthers haven’t a clue how the majority of contraceptives work. I’ve seen at least four posts on this forum telling me that IUD’s prevent ovulation!!
Sheer ignorance. |

They can inhibit ovulation with long term use, but only a portion of the time. Abortion of conceived embryos will still occur. |
Age also inhibits ovulation if given long enough. It’s called menopause. |
Yes, they were coming for it all along. The only acceptable form of contraception to them is papal roulette, also known as “natural family planning”. It’s very effective for women who are regular like clockwork, and couples who are fine avoiding sex for 14 days per 28 day cycle. Also known as NO ONE, which let’s face it is the point. |
The anti-abortion people are only interested in controlling and shaming women. They don’t give a flying f about “the babies”. So yes, they will come after any form of birth control that isn’t barrier (for now). Who can guess what they’re going after next. |

Most forced killers don’t understand how abortion actually works either. They refuse to watch videos showing the procedures or refuse ultrasounds that show beating hearts and perfectly formed little fingers and toes. They instead refer to the human inside them as a clump of cells. Does that not make them hypocritical as well |
I'm neither pro life nor pro choice. I would not use an IUD because it seems like having repeated abortions, assuming it does not stop contraception by fertilization of an egg. Seems worse than just having one RU 486 or one vaccuum abortion. Tens, hundreds, thousands of abortions with an IUD? 1 would be better. Or none. |
^ adding this to answer OP's question: Yes, a pro lifer using an IUD seems very hypocritical, informed or uninformed. |
Some of us can see “little fingers and toes” and not go hysterical and lose our minds. I know this may come as a shock to you, but in many faith traditions we do not believe that fetus has a soul. And even those among us who recognize the *possibility* that is fetal life know that is sustained only at great physical cost to the mother, so the mother always comes first. As for medical procedures, have you ever seen a placental abruption on a 14 year old? Because you’re about to start seeing a ton of them and it’s your own fault. Those little girls have heartbeats and fingers and toes too. |
