What to DO in the suburbs?

Don’t forget the rats!

You lack imagination, OP. Don’t forget summer traffic jams. There are plenty of things to see and do in Loudoun, the historical sites in particular:

Since you think that you are so sophisticated, Loudoun has some excellent restaurants that will satisfy your jaded palate:

The Wine Kitchen, King Street Oyster Bar, Bhai Sabab, Yen’s Cafe, Massaya etc. There are plenty of restaurants to enjoy.

What restaurants are outside security?

You could talk to her.

Lots of snobby urbanites on here, who don’t realize there’s a world outside the beltway.

Exactly. Sounding like a bunch of pretentious little pricks.

OP, whatever you would do in the city you can do with your friend in the suburbs.

You can drive by Sen Josh Harley’s residence (R-MO). Then do Amy Coney Barrett’s. And give Youngkin’s house a drive by. Good times.

Thanks for proving the typical ignorant stupidity of a city resident!

Nothing at al to do out here in the suburbs. City folk should stay far away.

If she were flying out of Reagan National we could meet up in the city at literally dozens of interesting places - so many museums and destinations, then we could grab a bite. How are we supposed to occupy ourselves out in the suburbs? Is there someplace worth going? Where do we meet? Is Udvar Hazy the ONLY thing to do? Seriously I need some good ideas!

How long is her layover? “A few hours” to me means 2-3, which means she will have very little time since she will have to go back through security. Do you know if she has Pre or Clear? What time of the day it will be and what day?

Yeah, I think the real question is how much time

You really may not have time to do much more than find the closest restaurant to the airport and have a quick meal and a drink

With a little more time, Udvar Hazy, Leesburg or one of the local wineries/breweries would be good

Hawley lives somewhere in or near Vienna. My friend was texting me from a donut place where she crossed paths with him and his kids. We were trying to figure out what she should say to that traitor

Yes, please don't come out here. We already saw what happens when "vibrant" city residents come to Tysons Corner Center.
