I should report this for being disinformation as I would bet her water broke and then the bag resealed and she carried until actual viability or term and so a 16 week fetus did not survive on dry land, but I’ve begun to think that we should let people see the level of stupidity in forced birther “sources.”

+1. A baby cannot survive without amniotic fluid.

There is an incredibly moving account of a similar situation available online. Google Defending Grace & Robin Utz. Her personal story has been published. Imagine you or anyone you love in that situation and see if it doesn’t change your mind and heart.

Get Med Jet Assist insurance. I’m not kidding. They would evacuate you in a situation like this. Even within the US.

It is considered a medical procedure, not your neighbor's business, and the only guidelines are what are set by the various medical associations in each province. I don't even know why you need a law. The system works fine without one. We don't have a particularly high rate of them compared to other countries.

I have such deep Canada envy, for so many reasons. Can you please tell me, like, two bad things about living in Canada, so I can just tamp down this envy a little bit?

They have an even worse affordable housing shortage than the US. (I'm not the Canadian pp though). Also, cold, dark winters?

Also, Canadian bacon. And Molson. Neither of which are as good as their American counterparts.

Spain has abortion up until 22 weeks for reasons related to the health of the mother.

If Spain is Catholic, Malta is basically Opus Dei. Their elites practice a very hardline version of Catholicism that's more reminiscent of the Crusades and Inquisition. Weird island stuck in time.

Bless your heart. Because newly expectant parents should always research the laws relating to abortion before traveling because you never know when your life might be placed at risk due to miscarriage. Thankfully the women can be transferred to Spanish territory for necessary medical treatment. But by all means wallow in your cavalier smugness.

They absolutely should. You never want to be trapped somewhere where the laws are against you and you're facing death for that reason. And its not like they didn't know they were pregnant as they characterized this holiday as a 'babymoon' on social media.

It's scary to think that women have to factor in whether they will be denied medical care if they are pregnant but "facing death for that reason".

But unfortunately you are right, increasingly we do have to be more cognizant of this.

Women should boycott travel to every location that would deny women necessary care. Elective abortion is, perhaps, arguably one thing. But a medically needed abortion? Yikes.

That poor woman. And her husband as well. I can't imagine the heartbreak of losing your first pregnancy on vacation and then being denied necessary medical care and THEN having your private health information splashed all over the media as well.

I think anyone who travels to Europe for vacation would expect the vaunted european health care system, and liberal laws, to takw care of thwm. Anyone could be in her shoes.

Apparently, most Americans don't know that Europe isn't big on abortions after 12 weeks.

That’s why she got immediate care in Spain. 🙄

Spain's an exception and most of Europe isn't Spain. This will come as a shock to you.

I don’t believe for one second this woman would have been denied care in Germany, France, etc

again, an incomplete miscarriage is very common...and is not within the women's control.

But religious freaks are like "It's God's plan" and will just let the woman die.

I'm so done with these people.

Just wait until a 12 year old rape victim dies in childbirth in a red state. Won't take too long.

Cons cry about embryos but don't GAF about living, breathing children.

Well they took it to The Press, so that part is on them
