+1! We also love Rocky Point Creamery near the Point of Rocks bridge in MD. |
the baby calves should really be drinking their mother’s milk, you know that right? |
I prefer Jeni’s but go to Moorenko’s because it’s closer to my house. |
And hear I was bringing my own pumped milk to feed to them! Thanks for the clarification, PP! |
We did this at a farm once and I asked the farmer that exact question. This is for older calves where the mom doesn’t particularly want them nursing anymore and they are being transitioned to grass grazing. The older calves still like the milk (and will grab the bottle greedily from you) but are getting most of their nutrition from the grass—the bottle is just a supplement. If anyone has ever breast fed a 2 year old (I’ve done three!) I think it’s like that stage. |
| Tropical Ice Cream & Jerk in SS. |
| Lapp Valley Farm Ice cream in Lancaster PA. Creamy and fresh and they make the waffle cones right in front of you. Plus you can pet a cow while you're there which is great for the kids. Lots of classic flavors like maple walnut, peanut butter, black cherry, and butter brickle. |

If the cow doesn’t want its calves nursing how do you think it feels about being milked every day for you? |
Probably doesn’t mind that much. Have you ever nursed a preschooler? Pumping is easier s. I pumped for three years which made me much less sympathetic to cows which have much bigger udders than I do and aren’t trying to do it while taking client calls, get a kid to preschool, etc. |
| We only go on the way to Girl Scout camp, but there's a vegetable stand right before you get to Luckett's that is way and away the best ice cream I've ever had. I think it's this one? Brossmans? |

Drive out to Woodbourne Creamery at Rockhill Orchard. It doesn't look like much, but man, their ice cream blows most of these recs out of the water. They use milk from their own cows. It's soooooooo insanely good. I like how they don't make their flavors sickeningly sweet either so that you can really taste the cream.

Also forgot to add, Woodbourne is MoCo's only cow to cone shop!
