You could not possibly be more wrong. You have a really jaded, sad view of what you call God. Let me guess….evangelical? God, the collective, creative consciousness of all that is, was, and ever will be, hears ALL prayer. We are a part of that consciousness and despite what you have been brainwashed to believe, nothing can separate that. How do I know this to be true? I listen.

/Minister who hates hypocritical, exclusionary “Christian’s’.

Also, if you have hate in your heart for anyone, you aren’t a minister.

My Masters and my ordination say otherwise. Also, Christ hated hypocrites.

Let me know what kind of minister you are and what church you represent. I would not want to attend a church that is guided by a person who hates other people and thinks God listens and considers the prayers of evil people that want to do evil or bad things. That’s a really bad combination I’d like to avoid.

I don’t think you’ll ever have to worry about that dear. And I’m out sick today, so you’re safe this week. 😂

Christ does not hate anyone. He hates sin. He loves the sinner. You are bad at this and it’s probably because you have a lot of hate in your heart. Do better, minister.

If you have an opinion about prayer, that’s valid. It’s a lie to YOU. It doesn’t make it a lie to everyone else in the world. God didn’t kill those children, a deranged and evil man did. And despite the hating minister commenting above that they personally hate people and Christ hates people… only evil people do such evil things and God doesn’t hate anyone.

Prayer is not an online order like an Amazon order. You don’t add prayers to your cart and receive them within a set day or time. It’s not wishes or wants that God fills for you on demand, nor is prayer a goodie list like children leave for Santa and hope to find everything they asked for under the tree on Christmas morning.

I am a Christian witch and I pray often - as close to daily as possible (I’ve fallen out of a prayer routine but will at least bless my meals). I believe wholeheartedly in the power of prayer, particularly when paired with meditation/contemplation. Prayer is us communicating with the divine - the divine will communicate back if we listen.

There is so much to the universe that is unseen, and this is where our prayers live. I do believe that prayer has the power to generate miracles. I have experienced this and I have witnessed this.

There is nothing wrong with pleading with God. Christ did it in the garden before he was murdered. But, remember- you have sacred worth. You don’t need to beg for anything. 💚

What is sacred worth?

I'm a Christian and I pray everyday. I'm losing hope lately wondering if prayers are useless or unheard.

I am a Christian and pray each day too and also feel like that sometimes. I understand that feeling.

But I firmly believe it can give you guidance, clarity and calm in very dark times. So while it couldn't save my mother from dying of cancer it gave me the ability to forge ahead.

I love my patron saints. And Joseph is the bomb. He took in Mary and protected her and Jesus. When in need I go to him while Mary is always by my side.

How does that all work with the rule not to worship false idols? Aren't you supposed to pray to God if you believe in God?

Saints aren’t God. They are people. You don’t worship them. You communicate with them via prayer because they are dead.

If you ever ask your dead grandmother who is in Heaven to look out for you, then you are praying to a saint.

DP. I’ve seen this minister here before and she’s a little scary. She particularly hates evangelicals, but she spews snark at folks of all denominations. I find it hard to understand how she can reconcile her behavior and the hate in her heart with Christ’s teachings.

At least she works in hospice care, not leading a parish, so there’s that.

In religious belief, a saint is a person who is recognized as having an exceptional degree of holiness, likeness, or closeness to God. However, the use of the term saint depends on the context and denomination. In Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Anglican, Oriental Orthodox, and Lutheran doctrine, all of their faithful deceased in Heaven are considered to be saints, but some are considered worthy of greater honor or emulation.

This snark is really un-Christlike, unless you put yourself at the same level as Jesus in the temple. Agree, please do better. Unless you’re a troll, in fact I think I’ll ask the moderator.

Praying for you to feel peace and hope, OP. Will you pray for me as well? Thank you.
