CU Boulder

Realised that as soon as I hit submit. I keep doing that! (but I still don't get why it's CU Boulder but University of Colorado Boulder)

Son was on one waitlist, Case Western, and just got an email saying he will not get an offer. Moving on...

Same reason the University of Denver is DU, I guess?

Her stats are way higher than CW's averages, yet they put her on the waitlist. I suspect it's because she didn't visit the school. She was hoping to get accepted before visiting. She's already accepted UVA, but still would go to Case if they accepted her. This waitlist thing is strange.

If you’re a VA resident sticking with UVA is a no brainer.

Why is it a no brainer? Cost isn't everything.

I guess it depends what your DC is looking for - if their criteria is small school and STEM focus, then Case is great! If your DC is unsure what they want to do, then I tend to think a larger school allows for more options down the road.

+1

Yup. This is common. Do not depend on the waitlist.

More schools should tell students, instead of giving them false hope.

Thanks!

Move on and love the college which loves you back.

There is movement on Cornell and Brown's waitlist, so pp can move on at the end of May or June when things are clearly over.

Which college?

Chid just got off a waitlist at a T20 school. Already enrolled at another T20 school. Trying to decide whether to try to visit the school (has never seen it) and if it is worth switching. This is making the process even harder than it was originally. Feeling overwhelmed and my kid is too.

Congratulations!
