Right- because the providers are blatantly ignoring the enrollment agreements with parents. Which, as you implied, they can get away with because parents are afraid of losing the spots if they take the provider to small claims court. |
| Ours does not charge the families who can’t attend due to exposure in the classroom. It is a bright horizons. We get a prorated amount for the days the kids can’t attend that is credited to the following months payment. |
Of course they charge. They aren’t going to eat costs simultaneously for dozens or hundreds of families due to a pandemic they didn’t cause. Do you want them to remain open afterward? |
Yes, pandemics are a bummer that way. |
Yawn. Don’t like the policies? Quit and stay home. |
Yeah, those damn daycare providers getting rich off soaking you! |
What answers did you expect? Seriously. You’re an adult. |
I actually think most of the replies are from idiots. Sorry, OP. Our daycare does NOT charge for COVID closed classrooms when it was a staff member who brought COVID in. If it came from a kid, then they charge. It's not an obvious outcome so your question is valid. |
How many times have they admitted it was a staff member who brought it in? |
| Yes still charge - just like when I paid for daycare for March - June 2020 so that I would have a daycare to return to if/when the pandemic ended. |
Three times out of six total. |
We’re not snarky - we’re just bitter and tired because many of us have older kids and have been through this a time or two - like Spring 2020 when many of us paid full price for months having NO clue if or when we’d have a daycare to return to. So the fact that you are asking this now when this is settled precedent for many of us is just showing that either you are a new parent new to daycare or you have had the immense privilege or luck not to have been quarantined yet. |
We’re the teachers still paid in full when they didn’t charge you? |
Yes. The daycare absorbed it as a loss. I personally think it's bad business practice, but I'm not complaining |
Wow! How many teachers are in your daycare? Three covid cases is a lot! |
