My family is in the boat that we have every COVID symptom in the book but the at home tests are negative. Obviously, I can’t go to work with a fever, congestion, vomiting, and headache and neither can my son go to school with those symptoms. I don’t even feel like getting PCR tested. We will stay home till we feel better and we will retest before resuming contact with people outside of our home.

I wonder if many cases in MCPS go unreported. Would a better number be how many staff and students are out of school for illness?

I think a lot. We had the same situation in our house too. We did multiple tests.

It's weird and pathetic to still be worked up over a virus that the Queen and Pelosi weathered in a few days for god's sake. Were you never sick before? It will be fine. Like noone is in the hospital FOR covid in moco. Seriously--somebody post the numbers. It's mutated to a cold now. Cases will peak on this bunny hill soon then crash in summer then rise in late summer just like the last two years. Welcome to the rest of your life. Except for the people with permanent disabilities from COVID and those with long term heart damage. Not that you would care about them, you don't. But don't worry you'll be paying for their care for the rest of your life.

You mean people who probably have the best doctors and medical care in the world. Sadly, most of us don't live in that world and what is a few days for you might be weeks for someone else. Just because you stopped caring doesn't mean others should. This is highly contagious and MCPS has very large schools.

Whether you care or don't, it actually doesn't move the needle on anything. Caring super hard isn't going to result in policy/mandate change.

Actually the CDC does not recommend masks at our current community level, which is low. Especially with our level of vaccination, according to CDC masks should not even be required even at the high level (unless hospitalizations go over the threshold).

So did they change the guidance on masking to look at whether cases are simply going up or down vs. the low/med/high community levels? That's news to me- do you have a link to that?

No. I mean people like the 60-75% of Americans who are estimated to have gotten covid now. Especially omicron. It’s like you are so isolated you know no one who has had it. I know tons in the last 3-4 months. Mild illness. Regular families. Not worth changing society over. Sorry it must be lonely on your covid island. Maybe you could look into a sabbatical in China. That would be more your speed. Locking people in homes and killing pets.

This thread must be the last of the bottom of the crazy barrel. Even the outdoor masker parents now are mask free at pick up except for one crazy mom who forces her gorgeous girls to (for real) triple mask. God they must be so hot when the weather is warm.
