I'm sure someone with a cousin will happily take the home off the owner's hands with a cash offer.

How much is this discounted off of a house in that neighborhood in normal condition without anyone living in the basement?

Yes, happens all the time when houses with existing tenants change hands. We’ve bought more than one. But ideally the tenants will have a lease and be paying rent. 😬

Of course it can.

Maybe a builder could dispatch their lawyer to handle it, then tear down and rebuild.

I disagree. That is teardown money now, especially for almost a half acre in a good school district. Yes there is the oil spill issue but if you're tearing down you could dig out the lot and put up a barrier plus clean dirt.

Google map the site, you see the white tankers maybe 0.5 mil west of it?

Wow, I read a lot of threads here and have never seen this mentioned, as opposed to Spring Valley where it comes up in every single thread about any house there. Thanks for the info and RIP City Paper’s print edition - the last one went out this week.

WE HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO OP! And I love a good mystery!

I love that it's now a hot home. That's all kinds of awesome.

Agent X, do you think it could be an adult offspring of the owner who has issues?

DP. No. Because then the owner/guardian could Baker's Act the child with police presence. Eviction and tenant implies this a stranger with legal issues preventing them from being thrown out.
