Is this a joke/parody of the current housing market?

The solution to getting the tenant to leave is right there in the description: "Powder room toilet is shut off and it leaks in lower level." Turn that toilet back on!

Oops, I just turned it into a hot home by posting it here. DCUM traffic is no joke! It was at 1500 RedFin views when I posted it and now 2030 RedFin views in <20 minutes.

WE HAVE NOTHING ELSE TO DO OP! And I love a good mystery!

I love that it's now a hot home. That's all kinds of awesome.

Me too! I'd love to know the backstory of how the squatter(s) came to be

Reminds me early seasons of Ozark.

That is exactly the movie I thought of when I read this post!

The jeans on the bathroom counter in pic 20 really lends an air of authenticity, nice touch!

That's a crappy house but I do like that neighborhood (and no, I don't live there but know someone who does).

I wonder if this is in some ways a test of the craziness of the house market. I bet the house still sells for over list.

$800K for Fairfax and 5 bedrooms?

I'm sure someone with a cousin will happily take the home off the owner's hands with a cash offer.

Yep, this house sits on an extremely busy road, is listed for $790K, and is 3 bedrooms smaller. It will go - parasite squatters and all.

Dying owner, squatter in basement? This is a sibling dispute and the owner is too sick to kick them out.

+1, my assumption would be that one sibling is living in the basement and the other has the POA to sell the house. Sad.
