Haven't been in a while, but the only restaurant I ever liked was Woodlands (MD). |
I think this is a hard question to answer. There are so many different types of Indian cuisine. What does your friend like? I'm a South Indian, and I'm always on the lookout for truly excellent South Indian vegetarian places. Those are hard to find. |
| Namaste in Kingstowne area of Alexandria is amazing |
|
Heritage India and Bombay Club - food is much better than Rasika.
For take out Biryani City in North Bethesda |
| My favorite is woodlands in VA, but you should know it’s vegetarian (not all vegan, but plenty of vegan options) |
|
Rasika is amazing.
For something less upscale Chennai Hoopers in Germantown or Commonwealth Indian in Rockville. |
Me too, but it closed. |
This! |
| I like Jewel of India the best. Have also heard good things about Spice Kraft Indian bistro in Alexandria. |
+2 Also in NOVA but further out in Manassas, I like Rangoli. |
Dishes of India is one of my favorites, but I live in DC so don't make it there very often. I've recently discovered Cafe of India in Tenleytown and it is soooooo good! |
| Commonwealth Indian in North Bethesda (Pike & Rose). It's a really nicely decorated place as well so feels like a real night out. |
YES to Haandi! |
+1 Came here to say this. |
| I enjoyed Diya Bistro in Ashburn recently. |
