Ananda in Fulton is worth the drive!

YES to Haandi!

Only if you want westernized Indian food. Went there once and my White American DH said even my food was better…I am not a great cook.

Odd. I am Indian myself and I think they are fantastic. Did you forget to order the food spicy?

Rasika - great food, cocktails, atmosphere

Raaga (VA) - North Indian Fare

Woodlands (Va) - South Indian Fare

Mama Tigre (Va) - Indian/Latin Fusion, great flavors

+1 except Woodlands (MD). Never been to the one in VA.

Haven't been in a while, but the only restaurant I ever liked was Woodlands (MD).

Me too, but it closed.

They opened in Gaithsburg now.

+1 Came here to say this.

Masala Art is good but their portion sizes are a total ripoff.

You pay the same amount as anywhere else except anywhere else you get a takeout container full of curry and a takeout container full of rice. At Masala Art you get a takeout container 1/3 full of curry and 2/3 full of rice.

Bombay Club near the White house for a nice dinner out.

Masala Art in Tenley for low-key delicious.

We like Jaipur in Fairfax. Takeout can take a while, plus they close between lunch and dinner, but the food is delicious.

I went to the new one once and it was not the same. I should try again.

I really like Commonwealth too. Everything has been consistently good.

The best is Jewel of India. No question.
